Chapter 8: Percy

Ω Jack's POV Ω

Αs we made our way out of camps halfblood, Rapunzel, Merida and Hiccup said goodbye to their fellow camp mates. everyone else payed me no attention, in fact they kept their distance from me. My friends were the only ones who actually interacted with me.

i could tell that my mother, Khione, wasn't their favorite goddess in the whole world. I mean she is the goddess of snow, she must be very... cold. wink wink, nudge nudge.

Out of everyone in the camp, only two worked up the nerve to talk to me. One was Leo, but the other i hadn't met before.

"Jack, this is Percy. The boy wonder you could say." Leo grinned and elbowed Percy in the side softly, as if proving his point. I was somewhat surprised that Leo was one to come to me. I heard he was one who had the most trouble with my mom.

"uh... yeah." Percy said, extending his hand to me. "Boy wonder isn't even my nickname but its nice to meet you Jack." he smirked and i hesitantly shake is hand. He didn't seem scared of me either.

"its nice to meet you too..." i mutter.

percy kept the friendly look on his face the whole time and it made me feel a little bit more relaxed. I was just happy to see that there was another person who didnt treat me like a disease.

"I just came to say that i was going on a quest at the same time as you guys so there is a slight chance that we will run into each other again." he said cheerfully as he twirled a pen in between his fingers.

"oh?" I managed a smile. ''Are you going with anyone?" for some reason i wondered if it was normal for people like me to go on life risking quests. and judging by this guy's structure, he's been on a lot of them.

"hm? oh right... I'm going with my girlfriend, Annabeth," I didn't get why he had to add girlfriend, "and with a camper from a roman camp. His name is Jason. Of course, Jason isnt gonna like you that much. i can tell."

Leo nodded next to him. "He had his rough spots with your mom... you're lucky that im a forgiving person. if I hated you for your own mother's doings, you'd be dead meat."

"unlikely..." Percy sighed.

Leo shot him a glare and blew a piece of his curly hair out of his eyes.

i let out a chuckle. "I think i can deal with him if we do bump into eachother later." Of course, i wasnt entirely sure if that was true or not. "By the way, Percy, who's your godly parent if you dont mind me asking...?"

Percy turned to me and gave a toothy grin. "Poseidon. Im a child of the big three."

poseidon. the mighty god of the sea? Earthquakes?! This guy is a child of one of the strongest forces in the world. And adding to the fact, water takes up most of the earth!

My mouth was hung open. "Poseidon? So... so you can summon waves and breathe underwater with ease?"

"Yeah. Im sure you can do that with snow... and ice i believe." He stated with a complete poker face.

"Percy!" yelled a feminine voice. "We should go get Jason now!"

We all looked over to see a waving to the son of poseidon from the top of halfblood hill. I was making a wild guess, but i take that her name was Annabeth, Percy's girlfriend.

"Well, i guess ill see you later." He grinned once more before running off towards Annabeth, with a backpack swung over his shoulder.

"You should go too." Leo said behind me. "Your team looks ready to depart."

i turned back to him to see he was saluting with a huge, goofy grin. "If you need me, just contact me with an Iris-message or ask Hiccup for his weird communication gadget.

I nod a salut back at him. "You bet." i returned the grin and started walking towards my friends.

"you ready?" Hiccup says, with a small hint of a smile etched on his face.

"yeah"

Once we got down Halfblood hill, all my nerves started coming back to me. and I just realized I had no idea what to do.

"Uh... um..." I stepped up to Rapunzel, twiddling my fingers together. "what are we supposed to be doing?"

Rapunzel stopped walking and snapped her head in my direction, giving me the scariest look possible. "You're the leader of this quest you should know."

Hiccup awkwardly scooted in and unfolded a piece of paper. "I have something that might help." he gulped and glanced over in Rapunzel's direction. "I made a map last night after hearing the prophecy."

"Yeah, and it makes no sense. there's locations on there that have no relation at all." Merida budded in. she walked up in front of Hiccup and I with her hands behind her head.

"They are perfectly logical!" Hiccup snapped. "I've got eyes and ears from all over who can tell me news about the gods. in fact, the son of hades gave me perfect information from Camp Jupiter."

Merida scoffed. "oh... him. the guy just doesn't know when to settle down."

"Camp Jupiter?" I asked as everyone started walking again.

"The Roman camp." Hiccup smiled at me. "I'm guessing Percy told you that he was getting someone from there before he left."

"Yeah, I believe his name was Jason?"

Hiccup nodded. "mhm... there's different sides of the story from each camp and they happened to hear a location for our quest. after I heard that, I studied and studied until I got a whole plan set out for us." he gave a proud nod and pointed to a location on his map. "first we have to go to Vermont."

"Vermont?" Rapunzel raised an eyebrow. "why?"

Hiccup smirked and fold the map up, putting in side one of his sleeve pockets. "We have to climb a mountain."

When I said sleeve pockets I was hoping that you would refer to the second httyd movie when he was marking "Itchy Armpit" xD

Aaaaaaand I referred to Nico in this chapter because he's one of my favorite characters, I want him to have a good part in the story.

Hiro from "Big Hero Six" will also get a good appearance later on. Merida mentioned him last chapter.
