Ω Jack's POV Ω
Here we stood at their so called halfblood hill. it looked like nothing special really. the only thing that caught my eye was a large pine tree, towering high above all the rest.
"Well what the heck am I supposed to be seeing?" I grumbled, squinting upwards, along side the hill.
"Well ol' guy. this is a hill believe it or not. the trick is to climb up and look from there." Merida scoffed.
"I'm not old!" I snapped.
"Then explain your white hair." she smirked, obviously pleased with herself. man, this girl had nerve.
"W-well... I-" I was interrupted by a pair of furry legs slamming into my face, a donkey? it sure smelled like one... "Agh. what's up with people running into me today?!"
Hiccup inched away awkwardly.
The animal thingy moved it's legs away urgently gave me a hand..... a hand?
"I'm so so so sorry. really. I think annabeth should use her architecture skills and create some stairs right here." said the 'thing'.
I quickly shuffled away on all fours to get away from him.
"Y-you have donkey legs!" I shrieked and slowly looked up at his face. The donkey boy had tanned freckly skin, curly hazel hair... and two horns. "a-and horns!"
"Hm?" he lifted his head, as if thinking he could see the top of his head... which I knew I wasn't able to do. "oh yeah. it took awhile but they actually grew larger than I thought."
I yelped at his calmness. "you're not at ALL worried?!"
"Easy there jack." hiccup sighed and picked me up by my armpits, as if I were a toddler.
"He's a new recruit. the one you smelled?" Merida nudged the donkey boy.
He's a goat and a human by the way... A satyr.
"What?" I said suddenly. everyone looked at me strangely. "a satyr?"
"Uh yeah... You must already know a thing or two about Greek mythology, huh?" the satyr said uncertainly.
It was me though... I know that. but I decided not to dwell on the thought.
He put out his hand. I hesitantly shook it, not sure if he had rabies. "I'm Grover."
"Jack." I responded.
He smiled and gestured up the hill. "oh, you're the one. everyone is waiting for you."
For me?
Grover turned to Merida and hiccup. "I have to go out on a job real quick. make sure he gets settled in." and with that he clopped off on his odd goat legs.
"Cloven orders." Merida grunted and started to lead us up the hill.
Ω Hiccup's POV Ω
When we got to thalia's tree, I looked over to see jack's mouth wide open.
"Whoa..." he said simply.
"Welcome to camp halfblood!" I announced, having to help his shocked butt down the hill.
"He's here!" yelled a girl from below, her hair braided with a feather. piper was her name. one of the seven.
Right away, rapunzel came running up to us, her blond braided hair flying behind her. behind her were two boys: Leo and Eugene (aka Flynn).
"Welcome Jackson overland." Rapunzel says, smirking.
Ω jack's POV Ω
The girl in front of me said something but I wasn't really paying attention. it was my surroundings I was gaping at. there were kids every where fighting with armor, swords, and pretty much anything you normally wouldn't see anywhere in public.
There was even a rock climbing wall that looked normal enough but the fact that it squirted out lava was not satisfying.
"Hello?" a hand was being waved frantically in front of my eyes.
I looked up to see a girl with blonde, braided hair that went past her knees. and I admit she had very beautiful green eyes. but that's not something I'd say out loud.
"He's taking everything in still..." hiccup muttered into her ear, which was pretty easy to hear. She nodded then gave me a reassuring smile.
"Come. I'm sure Chiron is waiting for you. I'm sorry if all of this us confusing, but he will be able to clear everything up for you." the girl put out her hand. "I'm rapunzel by the way. daughter of Apollo."
"Jack... jack overland." I hesitantly reached my hand out and shook hers loosely.
"Punz, aren't you going to introduce him to everyone?" hiccup whispered to her again. I swear this dude doesn't understand the term quiet.
"Right... right..." She stepped to the side allowing the two behind her to step towards me.
The first one had curly brown hair, with very elvish features. he wore a white shirt and suspenders, which were spoiled with oil stains. And his shoulder seemed to be on fire... but no one payed any attention. "I'm Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus." the scrawny boy said bowing to me.
Jokester. I can tell.
The guy next to him was rather good looking. he wore a orange T-shirt that said ' CAMP HALFBLOOD ' in bold letters. also his hair was very well groomed, and there were no blemishes to be seen anywhere on his face. he smirked and put out his hand. I nervously shook it, not wanting to look wimpy in front of someone who must be super popular. "I'm Eugene Fitzherbert. many people call me flynn, for childhood reasons." He winked, "pick your favorite."
"Uh...." I stare at him for a moment trying to think of something to say.
"Anyway. I'm the son of Aphrodite."
That clears everything. I wanted to say
Rapunzel cleared her throat and gestured for the both of them to leave. "anyway." she clapped her hands together. "I think it would be best to introduce you to everyone later." She gave an irritated look to hiccup and the two boys, and I swear I thought I saw them flinch.
She looked at Merida and hiccup and raised an eyebrow. "are you coming or...?"
"Nope!" they said quickly. "I had enough of Mr. D today..." Merida shuddered and nodded to us.
"Bye jack. I'll meet up with you later." hiccup grinned and patted my back, before running up to Leo. Merida nodded and headed towards a group of tough looking campers. Her brothers and sisters most likely.
"We should get going." rapunzel says, getting my attention. "follow me."
I don't know why. but I trusted her. I mean, right now I only trust hiccup, Merida and this blonde. even if I just met them.
Hiccup, leo, and Eugene all seemed kind of fidgety around Rapunzel. but she seemed pretty nice in my opinion.
I nodded and gave a small smile. "lead the way."
