Ω Jack's POV Ω

"Jack," spoke a voice from behind me after Tooth gave my group some helpful supplies. I turned around to see North staring down at me. "A promise is a promise. I can tell you where you need to go."

I glance over at Hiccup who still had that look of guilt as he looked over at us. He had recieved the wrong information, and everyone knew it wasn't his fault. Whoever was the source was is not going to wake up a happy man.

"Where is our first stop?" I ask and looked over at North with a sigh.

North took a paper out of his pocket and put it in my hand. "Its not a map or anything, but a list should do."

I nodded and put it in my jean pocket. I turned to walk away put Norrth stopped me before i could finally leave this weird place.

"one more thing..." he mumbled. "Quests are only supposed to have three members in total. you have four. I wouldn't be surprised if you returned to camp with only three people, Frost."

I gulp and look away from him, the prophecy buzzing through my ears. "Yeah, well..."

"just keep it in mind. Hopefully we'll meet again."

I turned to look at North again, but he and the rest of the guardians left into their dome, hidden in the foliage.

"Come guys we have a whole quest in front of us." I shouldered my bag and walked my friends out of Mount Laraway.

"Are you kidding me?" Merida yelled once we got to the bus stop. "We have to go all the way back to New York? We were literally just there."

"Theres always a flaw..." Rapunzel sighed. "Our previous directions were false."

Once she said it she immediatly regretted it. Hiccup looked up with those guilty eyes again but didnt say anything for a good two minutes. "It's not my fault." He snapped.

"We never said it was your fault." Merida crossed her arms.

the two continued to fight but I couldnt help but think about what North had said to me earlier. Only three will return...

"youre so-" merida started but i mournfully stopped her midsentence before she could insult the already hurt Hiccup.

"We should find a place to sleep before we set off... its getting dark." I say and begin walking further down the road, i could feel their eyes staring at me. After a few moments they started to follow.

the prophecy jack.

"i know..." i whispered back. "someone will be lost... a friend will die. things aren't really starting out very well."

the voice never talked back. The feminine voice had called me "son" before but something tells me its not my mother, khione. I dont know how i can tell, maybe because her voice seems a lot warmer than what people described my so-called evil parent. But who can she be?

Ω Hiccup's POV Ω

When Jack and I entered our rented room, I thought he would've gone straight to sleep. Judging by the black circles under his eyes and his paler than normal features. But instead he trudded over to the long window and sat on the floor, pressing his forehead against the window.

"Are you acting like this because of me?" I couldn't help but ask.

Jack turned his head against the glass for a split second as if looking at me but he went back to his last position. "No... You have nothing related to this."

i saw him rub his thumb against a piece of paper in his hand, the list of the new locations. That made me feel guilty all over again.

i growled and and dug through my pockets, pulling out a drachma. "Okay." I grunted and stepped past Jack, opening the window, parting him from the glass, and stepped into the misty night. To my left on the balcony was an especially large sphere of mist that must've been sent here from Iris herself. "as if..." i muttered with un certainty and flipped the coin into the ball of rainbow fog. "Oh Iris, Goddess of Rainbows, please accept my offering."

I glance behind me to see that I have attracted Jack's attention.

"Show me Nico Di Angelo."

the image shimmered slightly until it focused on a boy with very pale skin and dark black hair. The boy, Nico, wore an aviator jacket and a jack skellington shirt underneath. he also wore black jeans and ratty boots that i admit looked cool despite their rough shape.

But Nico looked up at me with shock as he was in the middle of eating his McDonalds burger. he pretty much just froze there with ketchup splotched against the corner of his mouth.

"uh... hi." He managed to say, almost drippling his food all over himself.

"You have some explaining to do." I snapped. Nico furrowed his eyebrows as he looked over at Jack who was now next to me.

"It's dinner time." He said with a complete poker face.

"Im not talking about your Happy Meal, Nico! Jeez... Im talking about your map. Were you trying to kill us?!"

"Kill you? I wasn't trying to kill you. I was helping you..." He ate a french fry and used his thumb to wipe of the ketchup on his face. "Did something happen? Nobody is dead, I know that."

"We might've been. those locations you gave me were false. they led to our deaths Nico!" i groaned.

"Hey, Dont blame me. I heard them and then delivered them." Nico finished his burger and rolled up all his trash, putting it in the to go bag. "Do you know where you're going?"

"yes." Jack said from next to me and gripped his list. "First place is New York and the next is..." he started but died down at the end. I looked at him in confusion.

"you must be jack..." Nico nodded and stared at my friend as if analyzing how he would die. "Son of Khione..."

"Yeah, you know her?"

"I had he card. not much agility but very powerful. Got her at a yard sale."

"what?"

Nico didnt answer, he was used to having people confused about his mythomagic references.

"ok..." Jack bit his lip and looked away.

"I have a message for you Overland." Nico sighed and ate his last french fry. "When you go to New York, you'll meet Apollo. At where ever your actual location is... He has something really important that'll help you on your quest. I dont know what in Hades' name it is but I wouldn't be surprised if its a poem."

"A poem?" Jack pondered.

"Kind of his thing." i shrugged.

"right... right okay."

"Anyway, i gotta get going. Im sorry hiccup." Nico managed a smile, that didnt really help much.

before i can say anything he swiped his hand through the image and are connection went out.
