Ω Jack's POV Ω

"We are called the guardians." North said, leading me into a dome like area. like any indoor garden. "we are Demi-gods who were granted immortality to protect young demigods who have just come into the world."

"You are a Demigod?" I snorted and looked at his beard.

"I was the longest living halfblood. my mother is Athena but hephaestus blessed me with creativity after I became immortal..." North sad calmly, rolling up his sleeves.

"Sounds like you had quite the life..." I rolled my eyes and took off my necklace.

"We made the guardian staff you know. a long time ago." he added, glancing down at me.

"You..." I gripped the item, unsure if I should just straight up throw it away, but I couldn't let go.

"We've been alive for awhile." He whispered. "I'm way older than you might think."

"You look very old." I mumble, which resulted in him glaring at me.

"Let's get to the test shall we?" he said in a slightly irritated tone.

I sighed as he led me to a stone patio that seemed like it was in the center of the dome.

"What do I do?" I say plainly as he pulls up one wooden chair and a water bottle.

North placed the water on the chair then walked up to me. then... it got uncomfortable. he picked me up by my arms (which I was too shocked to even react to) and carried me all the way to the other side, across from the objects.

"Use your staff's powers to knock the water bottle off the chair." he said simply and stood off to the side.

"Uh..." I rub my shoulders and pull off my necklace. "ok."

North nodded to me and I guess I felt a little uneasy. I didn't really have much practice with the guardian staff and I'm not quite sure about what he expected from me. "you'll be using your powers without the staff once you've got it down."

"But I never used magic without my staff." I argued, clutching the pendant.

"You froze water when you stepped on it... didn't you?" he said slyly, raising an eyebrow in triumph.

"That was different. I had no control."

"And that's the purpose of this test. to see if you can gain control. If you can't use the magic to your own will, you'll become a hazard that we'll have to keep locked away." he said the last part darkly and I gulped. "no pressure though." he said with a cheery smile and voice... which didn't really help.

"ki̱demónas." I say and the necklace grew full size into the guardian staff.

I gripped the handle of the staff and pointed it at the water bottle. sooner or later, I swung upwards and a gust of snow scattered everywhere randomly.

"Ugh." I scoffed to myself and tried again. over and over and over, but it never hit the pastiche water bottle. "Why isn't it...?"

"You're tense." north said, crossing his arms as he sat down on his own chair.

"You just told me some pretty deep stuff dude. of course I'm tense."

"I said 'no pressure though.'"

"That made it worse!" I yelped and tried again... but failed.

Surprisingly, north chuckled, "Don't dwell on someone's words while in war. keep your mind on the thing at hand.

"I have ADHD."

"And so do I."

I look at him for a moment before looking at the water bottle and shooting at it.

In my eyes, it was in slow motion. ice, the shape of an arrow with snow pushing it to go faster... sped towards the bottle and pierced straight through the plastic. Some water exploded everywhere but some actually froze.

"Good job, Frost." North smiles and motions for me to put my staff away as he put a new water bottle on the chair.

"My hands..." I mutter and spread my fingers apart as I lifted my arms up, pointing towards my target.

I took a deep breath before thrusting my arms forward a little... but only a little chilly breeze came out from my palms.

"Huh?..." I pull my hands back and stare at the frost that temporarily formed on my fingers.

"You aren't thinking about what you need to do so it's coming out weak. you need effort." north said proudly in his Russian accent, forming his hand into a fist.

"Think... think... think..." I mumbled to myself and got into a stance. my feet apart, my eyes focused on the water bottle, my hands together... a fist on top of my palm.... "think... think... think... think..."

Ready... set... G-

"-Jack!!" a voice interrupted my thoughts and the snow dart shot off deep into the dome. there was a sudden shatter of glass and I looked a north who had a very serious look of confusion on his face. I decided not to tell him I broke a dome window.

"Who's there?" he boomed.

Rapunzel, hiccup and merida stumbled into view. at first they looked happy but then they saw North... and I couldn't tell what they were thinking.

"Let him go." merida ordered, stomping her foot to the ground. "don't make me force you."

I think that was supposed to be a scary effect but it never really worked. North just coughed and looked back at me. "ok so focus-"

"-wait wait wait, whoa!" hiccup cuts him off and stepped up onto the stone patio. "jack, why arent you leaving him?"

"He's helping me." I say. I wouldn't have believed that earlier but this control thing... I think, no I know that it'll be useful.

"But he kidnapped you."

"To save me."

"To save you?" Rapunzel questioned stepping up to me.

"Hiccup got the directions from the enemy. apparently they're targeting me. if we went any further up this mountain I would probably be dead."

Hiccup's eyes widened, but slowly looked away with sorrow and guilt. "I didn't know..."

"How do you know the old guy isn't lying?" merida hesitantly snapped.

"Because I just know..." I snapped back, glaring at them. "He's helping me with my powers. I have no choice but to believe in him."

I looked around the dome to see the three other 'guardians' coming in bruised and battered which I guess were my friends fault.

"Bunny?" north gasped.

"They caught us off guard..." Bunnymund sighed.

"I'm sorry." rapunzel blurted out and bowed down in an ashamed manner.

"Jack needs to finish his test." North said firmly looking back at me.

"Test?" she asked softly.

North explained the whole story, exactly the same way he told it to me. even adding in the "no pressure" part.

Everyone gulped at the thought of me being locked away as a hazard. I just wanted to know how dangerous my mom was or... how dangerous my powers were.

The whole dome seemed to be silent as I turned back towards the water bottle, got in my stance, spread my feet apart, focused on the water bottle, put my hands together.... a fist flat on my palm and...

In the blink of an eye the bottle broke into pieces, droplets of ice sprinkling to the ground.

"Congratulations Frost." North smiled. "you passed."

Authors Note:

I didn't know how to end that.

But Jack's stance is supposed to resemble Gray Fullbuster's ice make stance in Fairy Tail haha. I had to. The picture above is a picture of Gray in the pose. Pretend it's Jack XD
