Quinn skipped lunch and ate in the auditorium by herself. She wanted to be alone with her thoughts, and she wanted to call her mom to talk about Beth.
Judy didn't answer her phone, so Quinn texted her.
"Quinn."
Quinn looked up from her phone at Puck, who was standing in the doorway.
"H-Hey." Quinn stuttered.
"Did you hear anything from your mom?" Puck wondered.
Quinn shook her head.
Puck frowned as he sat down. "I can't think of anything else. I'm a little distracted."
"Me, too." Quinn said softly, though she had a lot more on her mind.
"I meant everything I said this morning and last night." Puck told Quinn. "But if you wanna forget I said anything-"
"I don't wanna forget it." Quinn cut Puck off. "I just need to think about things."
Puck opened his mouth to say something, but he paused and nodded. "Take your time."
Quinn bit her lip.
"No pressure." Puck added.
Quinn smiled slightly. She knew he meant it. Things between them would be okay no matter what happened.
"Noah." Quinn said softly.
Puck looked at her.
"Thank you." Quinn said.
"For what?" Puck wondered.
"For being there yesterday." Quinn answered. "I really wouldn't be able to get through this stuff without you."
"You would." Puck insisted. "But you know I'm always here for you."
"I know." Quinn nodded as she took Puck's hand. "Thank you."
Puck smiled as he squeezed Quinn's hand.
Quinn rested her head against Puck's arm.
The pair sat in silence for a while.
They were interrupted by the sound of Quinn's phone ringing.
"That's my mom." Quinn noted as she put her phone to her ear and stood up. "Hello?"
"Hi, honey." Judy said softly. "I just saw that you called."
"How is she?" Quinn wondered as she looked at Puck.
"She's doing really well." Judy answered. "The doctors said she can come home tomorrow morning."
"Tomorrow?" Quinn frowned.
"They want to monitor her for another night." Judy explained. "But she's doing really well. She's smiling and laughing and eating."
Quinn bit her lip. "Can we come after school?"
"After glee club." Judy said. "Yes."
"I gotta go." Quinn said as the bell rang. "Thanks for calling. And for being there."
"Of course. See you later."
"See you later."
Quinn hung up the phone and looked at Puck.
Puck raised his eyebrow.
"She said Beth's doing well and she can come home tomorrow morning." Quinn informed Puck.
"Tomorrow morning?" Puck smiled. "That's great."
"Yeah." Quinn nodded.
"Why don't you sound more excited?" Puck wondered.
Quinn shrugged. "I kinda thought she'd come home today."
"Well, tomorrow's Saturday, so maybe you'll be able to stay overnight with her." Puck told Quinn.
"I want you to be there, too." Quinn responded.
"We'll talk to your mom and the doctors, and figure it out." Puck promised as the second bell rang. "I gotta go, I'm late for class. I'll see you in glee club."
"See you in glee club." Quinn echoed.
