The day dragged on until it was finally time for glee club.

"Are we going to glee club or not?" Puck asked as he leaned against the lockers by Quinn's.

"We have to go." Quinn told Puck. "I forgot that Olivia is performing her audition song today. I have to be there for that."

Puck nodded. "Well, tomorrow's Friday, so we can skip then if you want."

"We'll see how I sleep tonight." Quinn shrugged. "Let's go to glee club."

The duo walked to the choir room and took their seats in the back together.

"Today we're going to have a special audition performance from Miss Olivia Martin." Mr. Schue announced, pausing as everyone cheered for Olivia. "But before we get started, Mike and Kurt had something to say."

Kurt and Mike stood in front of their friends in the front of the room.

"As most of you already know, Sam quit the club." Mike began. "He's moving to Kentucky because his dad just got a new job there."

Quinn leaned her head against Puck's arm and held his hand.

"And I already got us a new member." Kurt continued.

"Who?" Tina wondered.

"Dave Karofsky." Kurt smiled.

"Oh, hell to the no!" Mercedes exclaimed.

Finn furrowed his eyebrow. "Kurt, he's the guy who made you transfer."

"I'm gonna beat the shit out of him if he steps foot in this room." Puck muttered.

"I sat down with Karofsky, and we talked everything out." Kurt insisted. "He understands me now, and I understand him and why he did what he did."

Santana folded her arms. "Why did he do it?"

Quinn jumped as her phone started ringing. "Sorry."

Quinn glanced at the screen and saw that it was her mom calling. Knowing Judy, she probably forgot Quinn was at glee club, so Quinn denied the call.

Judy immediately called back.

"I better take this." Quinn said softly as she excused herself and left the choir room. "Hi, Mom."

"Hi, honey." Judy said. "I know you're at glee club, and I normally wouldn't bother you, but-"

"What's wrong?" Quinn wondered.

"Everything is fine." Judy promised. "I'm at the hospital with Beth. She has a fever."

"How bad is it?" Quinn asked.

"She's okay." Judy stated.

Quinn bit her lip as tears filled her eyes. "What's her temperature?"

"103 degrees." Judy responded.

"Oh my gosh." Quinn gasped. "Okay, I'm on my way."

"Stay for glee club." Judy commanded. "She's okay, I promise."

Quinn shook her head as she started crying. "I'm coming. Thanks for calling."

Quinn hung up the phone and walked back to the choir room. Not wanting to interrupt Olivia's performance, Quinn stood in the doorway and looked at Puck.

Puck glanced over and saw Quinn.

Quinn waved him over.

Puck nodded as he grabbed Quinn's bag and got up. He walked over to the door. "What's going on?"

"My mom's at the hospital with Beth and I don't have my car, but I have to get there, and I should be there with her, and..." Quinn trailed off as her sobs took over and shook her body.

Puck put his arms around her. "It's gonna be okay. I'll go with you."

Quinn took a deep breath as they parted. She took her bag from Puck.

"I'll text Finn when we get there, so he can tell Mr. Schue why we ran out." Puck said as he and Quinn headed out to Puck's car.

Quinn shook her head. "I'm gonna text Liv."

The pair climbed into Puck's truck and buckled their seatbelts.

Puck started driving to the hospital.

Quinn stared out the window and tried not to cry.

Puck knew she was scared and upset because he was, too. He reached over, grabbed her hand, and squeezed it.

Quinn put both of her hands around Puck's and squeezed it back.
