Yoongi was always a loner in school. He didn't really have friends or anyone to talk to but he liked it that way. Not that he was awkward, he just preferred to be by himself; to write in his notebook and listen to the music that he loved.
Music was his passion. He would write poems and songs in his notebook, but he never felt like they were good enough. So that's why he kept it to himself. He also knew how to play the piano. A piano sat in the dining room of his house and every night he'd practice on it. He took pride in it actually.
School was very important to him as well. He always made sure he had good grades and passed everything. Not that it was hard. He was only in fifth grade that is, but with a eighth grade reading level.
He walked through the crowded halls, his earbuds in his ears, blaring music to drown out the loud obnoxious noises of children. He always felt like he was much more mature for his age and quite frankly he was.
He came around the corner and saw three fourth graders huddled around a smaller boy. One stood in front, the tallest of the three, hovering over the small boy with an evil grin—grabbing the boys shirt tightly. The other two were a little shorter but clearly bigger than the boy being bullied.
Yoongi walks a little closer, noticing the small boy was in fact Jimin, and all of a sudden he felt the need to protect the boy. "Hey!" Yoongi yells taking out his earbuds, as all four of them look at Yoongi. "Leave him alone."
The fourth grader snorts, "And What are you gonna do about it?"
Yoongi begins to walk towards them as one of the fourth graders nudge the taller, "He's a fifth grader Jack! Let him go!"
Jack turns to the other and says, "So! I'm not afraid of a fifth grader!" And as soon as he finishes that sentence, Yoongi grabs him by his shirt, making him let go of Jimin and slings him around, pinning him to the other wall. "Do you like this? Huh?! Do you like when I pin you to the wall and watch you squirm and cry because you physically can't do anything—because I'm stronger and bigger than you!?"
"Please man, let me go! I'm sorry!"
"Yeah, you better be sorry! And if I see you messing with Jimin again, you're gonna be more than sorry. You got that?" Yoongi looks at him through hooded eyes. Jack just nods his head violently then Yoongi lets go. The three boys running off as Yoongi stands there watching their bitch asses disappear. He adjusts himself and turns to face Jimin who was still standing against the wall, his hands at his chest from being scared.
"Hey, you okay kid?"
Jimin nods, "Yeah. Thanks for saving me. He was about to beat me up." Yoongi helps him up from the wall and picks up his things from the floor.
"It's no problem." Yoongi holds Jimin's backpack up, letting Jimin slip his arms through the straps. Yoongi then rubs his head. "You need to be more careful around those guys. If they pull some dumb stunt like that again, let me know."
Jimin smiles, looking up at the boy he admired. "Okay I will. Uhh Yoongi, will you walk me to my class?"
Yoongi really needed to get to his class but, how could he say no to the younger. "Sure kid, I'll walk ya."
He takes Jimin to his class and Jimin goes to walk in but he stops at the door and turns to look back at Yoongi, "Hey Yoongi?"
"Yeah?"
"Will you be my friend?" Jimin asks in such a cute tone. His eyes glossy and his tiny hands held together at his front. Yoongi smiles, "I'm already your friend."
That earned one of Jimin's famous eye smiles and he runs over to Yoongi, embracing him with a huge hug. "Now go on, get to class before you're late." Jimin runs inside as Yoongi just smiles at, once again, how adorable he is.

Months went by and Jimin and Yoongi had become really close. Jimin would come over any chance he got to spend time with the older boy. Even though Yoongi had turned eleven a few months ago, they never let the age difference get in the way of their friendship. Since Yoongi didn't really have any friends he didn't mind having Jimin as one. Especially since he found the younger boy cute.
They were laying under the oak tree, looking up at the once blue sky that was now turning a pinkish orange color. The sun was setting and this was the first time Jimin had stayed this long. "Look at the colors in the sky!" Jimin shouts as he points towards the sky in amazement. Yoongi nods his head, laying on his back with his arm folded behind his head. "Yep, its pretty."
Jimin lowers his arm, copying Yoongi and glancing over at him with a smile. He looked up to Yoongi. Yoongi was his favorite person. Yoongi was, his best friend. He realizd Yoongi was about to go to sixth grade which meant they'd be in different schools and he worried Yoongi wouldn't be his best friend anymore.
"Well, it's getting late." Yoongi says as he sits up. Jimin quickly follows as Yoongi looks at him. "You should probably get home." He goes to get up and says, "I'll walk you." But before he could get all the way up Jimin pulls on his arm making him sit back down. "Wait, can't we just sit here a little longer?" His eyes were doleful as his lips curled into a pout and Yoongi just couldn't argue. "Okay. But only five minutes." He says pointing a finger at the younger who smiled real big nodding his head.
Yoongi repositions himself as Jimin wraps his arms around Yoongi's and leans his head on his shoulder. They look back up at the sky as Jimin mutters, "Youre my best friend, Yoongi."
Yoongi glances down at him and brings his left hand up to rub him on the head. "You're my best friend too Kid."
