CHAPTER 5: Lingering Doubts

# CHAPTER 5

Everything wasn't supposed to mess up since day one.

When Emily woke up, Maddie's still peacefully sleeping on her arm. If everything is stressful for Emily, Maddie's the antidote. She carried her to her room and took a shower before deciding to go to Aubrey and Flo's room.

When she's walking her way to their room, she passed by Jean's room and she's still there in coma.

She wasn't mad at her when she found out that Jean's dating Peter before—maybe a little sore but Jean likes Beca and she's no way serious with Peter.

When she reached the two traitor's room, they're playing chess. She just caught their attention when she knocked.

Flo opened the door for her but Emily's not interested on her after the last time she had an encounter with her.

Emily leaned on the glass wall and crossed her arms. "So, I'm going to make things straight, what's your decision Aubrey?"

Aubrey looked at her for a second before answering. "I'm just going to help for Stacie—

Emily scoffed. "Oh really? That slut?—

"Don't you dare call her like that..."

Emily mocked her with a laugh. "I didn't know I put Aphrodite down on me—

Aubrey furiously grabbed the collar of her shirt and pinned her up to the wall with eyes burning in anger. Flo just watched them and no sign of stopping them. "You should stop before I make your face bleed…"

"Oh, I'm fucking scared." Emily said exactly Aubrey felt a sharp thing on the center of her stomach causing her lips to twitch then pushed the brunette hard on the wall. She saw a pocket knife on Emily's hand. "You should respect the mafia who's feeding your family. You won't be like that and you will never meet Stacie if it wasn't the mafia. You must be grateful I didn't kill that bitch of you—

"I said don't call her like that!"

"Then fix yourself! You must work things out because you messed everything just because of her! And I swear, if you didn't comply on anything Beca say, I'm the one who will slit that slut's throat in front of you! Don't fucking forget that." Emily infuriated and walked outside the room leaving Aubrey punching the thick wall.

Emily just let herself rest on the couch while watching TV.

After an hour and a half of watching, she saw Aubrey walking to the kitchen. She looked at the clock and it's already lunch time so she went upstairs to wake Maddie up.

When she reached the kiddo's room, she raised her eyebrows as she saw nothing but an empty bed. She went to Beca and Chloe's room but it's also empty. She began to panic and find Maddie on every room the house had.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck." Emily muttered as she almost slide down the stairs. She saw Aubrey on the kitchen noticing her antics but she ignores it and she went outside the mansion and looked around the garden or any possible place Maddie could hide.

She then saw Roxanne on the gate frowning at her so she walked towards her and asked her, "Have you seen Maddie?"

"No? I thought she's sleeping with you?" Roxanne's Australian accent was intimidating but it hasn't anything to do with the mafia.

"Fuck." Emily said and wiped her sweats on her forehead. "Are you sure you didn't notice her anywhere here?"

"No, why? Is she—

"Yes, please help me find her. She's sad a while ago… and I'm thinking the worst right now."

"Okay, please calm down. I'm going to the garret and basement to check her. Inform Beca about it." Roxanne said and was about to run but Emily stops her. She looked back at her.
