CHAPTER 10: Apprehensive Moments

When they got home safely, Beca began on asking Emily of what happened. She keeps on questioning her but the tall brunette wasn't answering her, it seems like she's hiding something.

Chloe brought Maddie upstairs and Beca just kept on following Emily to the kitchen.

That's the moment they saw Lee eating some sandwich. The latter widened her eyes as she saw Beca entering the kitchen so she decided to just go out in case they have something to talk about but Beca stopped her by her arm. Lee stopped on her track and looked at Beca who's raising her eyebrows in confusion.

"Where are you going?" Beca asked as if Lee was meant to stay there and listen to them.

"Um, I'm… I'm going to my room?" Lee said, not sure of what to say. Beca chuckled at the frantic woman and let go of her.

"Stay, I'm gonna ask few things."

"You sure?—I mean yeah, okay." Lee said and sat back to where she was sitting. Emily looked at Beca who shrugged and took some milk on the fridge.

Emily did the same and sat across Lee. Beca sat in between them. "How's Ashley? You know, you seems so close to her."

"Um, she's okay." Lee simply said but Beca's not buying it.

"What do you mean okay?" Beca asked again, she saw Lee's hesitating to answer so she spoke again, "Are you having a relationship with her?"

Lee's mouth suddenly went open at the question. "What?"

"Well, base on what we see I think you're dating her already." Emily said as she lower her flannel down her elbow, showing her smooth arms and chest. Lee immediately shook her head in disagreement.

"No, we're not." Lee said, she was about to add a word but Emily spoke again.

"But you like her." Emily interrupted, and blush spread out of Lee's face. Beca saw it and smirked.

"No, I mean yeah, I like her but just a… friend."

"Yeah friends." Beca agreed. "Friends who sleep on a same bed, friends who—

"Fine, we're bestfriends. She trust me but I don't like her as a partner. I'm... I'm straight." Lee confessed hesitantly. Emily and Beca sighed in relief. "I've been blind and deaf for many years, maybe you thought I'm being freak around but I'm just enjoying someone who trust me and talk to me all the time. Actually, I'm still adjusting but I'm seriously grateful of the chance you gave me that's why I'm doing my best to make Ashley go back on what she was doing before. What ever is it."

"She's a school detective." Beca said. "She's a President of Detective Club, she's solving a lot of crime scenes but when Genesis came, she lost the ability to solve those mysteries. Maybe that's made her so depressed. She doesn't know everyone's ability dissolve instantly."

The guilt run over Lee's being. She's so guilty that until now she's lying to the person who always trust her. She's so guilty that she's one of those traitor she hates to death.

Ashley doesn't even know how to look at Aubrey and Flo whenever they're seeing each other. While Lee keeps on avoiding Flo. She doesn't like the idea of seeing her around when in fact she's the reason why she's with Ashley.

Freely with Ashley and not with a cruel Omega who do nothing but to play with her.

Before they even ask more questions, Lee stood up. "I'm just gonna go."

"Wait, how old are you?" Beca asked.

"I'm 21." Lee smiled and walked out of the kitchen.

There's a silence between the two but Beca broke it. "She's pretty in small distance."
