Lyric sighed as he walked up the steps of his new school. He really didn't want to be here. He didn't know why his parents had to move their business. He pushed his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose and opened the front door. He silently passed students in the hall on his way to the locker he was assigned. He twisted in the combination from memory and it opened with a small click. He put his bag inside the locker and took out his books. After grabbing schedule, he shut his locker and walked down the hall, his cold eyes looking around for room fifteen, math. A football flew through the air and nearly hit him. He gave a steely-eyed glare to a tall guy, continuing his walk down the hall. He finally found room fifteen and walked in through the open door.

"Who's that?" A whisper sounded from a blonde girl in the front.

"Some newbie?" A guy from the back questioned to his friend.

~That's right... Whisper not-so-secretly about the new guy...~ He thought sarcastically. He made his way to the back, avoiding any eye contact. He sat down and started to read. No way was he going to listen. ~I don't need this. And I hate math...~ He thought.

The late bell rang and the remaining students scurried into the classroom. After them came the teacher. She seemed like one of those peppy teachers who laughed a lot and smiled all the time. Lyric hated those teachers. They annoyed him.

"All right, class! We have a new student with us today-"

Lyric's eyes widened. ~Dear Lord, please no...~

"His name is Lyric. Lyric will you come up here, please?" She smiled at him.

He put his book down and stood from his chair, walking to the front of the room. ~Another reason why I hate these teachers...~ He growled internally.

"Everyone, this is Lyric!" The teacher smiled. "Why don't you tell them a little about yourself, Lyric?" She smiled down at him.

Lyric sighed. Well, if he had to... "I'm Lyric," He said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Then he shrugged and walked back to his seat.

The teacher seemed a bit shocked by his rudeness, but she quickly smiled. "I trust you'll all be kind to Lyric! Now, then, let's get started!" She started writing on the board.

Lyric continued to read, not caring to listen to the teacher. No one else seemed to be listening either.

Soon the class ended, much to Lyric's relief, and he stood, gathering his books and departing from the classroom. He paused outside of the room to check his schedule. ~Next is...Gym...~ He almost groaned. He hated gym. He sighed and walked down the hall to his locker. He twisted in the combination. ~17-3-22...~ It clicked open and he neatly set his books inside. Shutting it again, he trudged down the hallway to the gym.

Vance Intukai stood as the first period bell rang to leave. He grabbed his history book and his friends, Ryu and Gintoki, joined him.

"That party last night was epic!" Ryu smirked.

Ryu Kagome is head of the basketball team. He usually insults people to get others to laugh. He's loud, rude, and follows the social ladder perfectly. He thinks athletes should come before anyone.

"Dude, right?!" Gintoki smirked, giving Vance and Ryu a high five.

Gintoki Abyss is captain of the soccer team. He thinks very highly of himself and doesn't think twice before he speaks, so he often insults people. He can be nice and a bit more laid back when he wants to be, but other than that, he's just like Vance or Ryu.

Vance smirked. "Totally. Remember that guy who jumped the bonfire?" He asked as they walked down the hall towards the lockers.

"Yeah! I totally thought he'd bomb it, but he actually managed to stick the landing," Ryu grinned.
