Vance frowned as he walked down the hallway, entering the History class. "You wanted to see me, Sir?"
Mr. Kirochi looked up from a stack of papers. "Oh, yes! Mr. Intukai. I have unfortunate news," He said.
"What is it?" Vance asked.
"It would seem that your tutor, Mr. Kadoya, has resigned from his duties," Mr. Kirochi said.
"Why would he do that?" Vance asked,
"I'm just as confused as you, Mr. Intukai," Mr. Kirochi said.
Vance sighed. "Um, thanks for letting me know. I've gotta go!" And he ran out of the room, running down the hall. ~Lyric, what happened?~
~
"She said what?" Haruka glared across the cafeteria at Aria.
"Yeah. But she's right. About everything," Lyric bit his lip. "I should just leave it alone."
Haruka looked at Lyric. "No, Lyric. You're not a loser. You deserve to be treated with respect," Haruka said.
Lyric looked down at the table. "It doesn't matter. She was still right. Vance is a popular guy with a reputation. I'll only hold him back."
Haruka watched Lyric sadly. ~He really thinks that... Aria only fueled his insecurities. That bitch... One day her karma will catch up to her.~
"Lyric!" Vance called from the doorway.
Lyric didn't even move. "Great..." He sighed.
Vance hurried over to their table. "Lyric! What happened? Why did you tell Mr. Kirochi that you don't want to be my tutor anymore?" He asked, sitting down.
Lyric frowned. "You don't need me. You can do it on your own."
"That's not the reason, and you know it," Vance said. "Seriously, Lyric, what's wrong?"
Haruka bit her lip. She stood and walked over to the water fountain to give them more privacy.
"You're a jock, and I'm just a nerd. You don't need me hanging around to bother you. Trust me. I did us both a favor," Lyric said, not looking at him.
~That doesn't sound like Lyric at all... Someone must have said something to him... It can't be Ryu. I've been with him all day. Then...~ He looked over at Aria who was laughing with a few of the other cheerleaders. ~Of course. Aria's bitchy enough to do it.~ "Lyric... Aria doesn't know what she's talking about."
Lyric frowned. "Doesn't she? She's right. I'm nothing but a loser," Lyric said, shrugging.
Vance shook his head. "You're not a loser, Lyric."
"Then why does everyone else seem to think that I am? Look, it doesn't bother me if someone wants to call me that, you know? I told you that I didn't care what anyone said." Lyric looked up at him finally. "Maybe it's best if I don't hang around you. I mean, your friends don't even like me."
Vance stood up. "No. I'm not going to let you just give into that. I like having you around, and I won't let someone else decide that you can't." He said.
Lyric frowned, sitting up straighter. "What are you doing?"
"Just stay here," Vance growled, walking across the cafeteria to where Ryu, Gintoki, and Aria sat with a few members of the football team, and a few girls from the cheerleading squad.
"Hey, dude. Where've you been?" Ryu said, waving a hand at him,
"That's really none of your business," Vance said. "But apparently, your girlfriend decided to make it her business," He shot a glare towards Aria.
