The next day at school, Lyric was sitting alone in the library as he hummed softly to himself. It was his free period and Vance had to make up a geometry test. Just then, the doors opened and shut. Lyric looked up and saw Ryu. "Kagome?" He frowned.
Ryu's eyes landed on Lyric and he sighed in relief. "Lyric. Dude. I've been looking everywhere for you." He sat down next to Lyric.
"You have? Why?" Lyric frowned. "Is everything all right?"
"No. I need your help." Ryu bit his lip. He looked like he hasn't slept in forever and his eyes looked bloodshot. "We the only ones in here?"
Lyric nodded. "Yeah. What is it? Are you all right?"
"No...I-I don't know. I'm just...so tired of hiding..." Ryu looked him in the eyes. "You'll understand... P-Please, you've got to help me!"
Lyric's eyes widened. "Hey, don't worry, I'll help you." He patted Ryu's shoulder. "What is it?"
"I-I'm not straight...I'm gay, Lyric. And-And I don't..." Ryu ran a hand through his hair and looked down at the floor. "I don't know what to do. Aria just doesn't turn me on and no other girl does either... But I was at home and I saw a really attractive guy on TV and that turned me on..." He blushed and bit his lip. "I-I don't want to do this by myself!"
Lyric watched him in shock. "Oh, Ryu..." He whispered. He hugged him. "It'll be okay. You're not alone, okay? You've got Vance, Gintoki, and I'll be here, too, okay?" He said softly.
Ryu hugged him back. "Thank you so much. I didn't know who else to talk to. I-I appreciate it." He pulled back. "And I need to apologize for all those things I said to you. What do you say? Friends?" He asked.
Lyric gave a small smile. "Friends."
Ryu sighed in relief. "Okay. But I still don't know what to do. I need to break up with Aria, but I don't know what to say to her. Will you come with me, please?" Ryu asked.
Lyric nodded. "S-Sure." He closed his book and grabbed his phone, shoving it into his pocket. He stood up and put the book back on the shelf. "Let's go then."
Ryu nodded and he and Lyric left the library together.

Meanwhile, Aria was on the phone with Li. "Hehe! And you should have seen his face when Vance got mad at him! Ah...if only it had lasted. Well, oops! Ryu's on his way over...with that little pest. I'll talk to you later! Bye!" She hung up and looked over at Ryu. "Hey, babe."
Ryu bit his lip and looked at Lyric. Lyric nodded. Ryu sighed and looked at Aria. "Uh, yeah, look, I...cant go out with you anymore..."
Aria blinked. "That's funny! It almost sounded like you were breaking up with me?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah. I am. I'm sorry, but I-Lyric, I don't know what..." He looked at Lyric.
Lyric cleared his throat and looked at Aria. "Ryu has a new sexual preference that no longer requires your services. He is truly sorry for everything, but he can no longer be inclined to call you his girlfriend," Lyric said.
Aria watched Lyric a moment before glaring. "This is all your fault, isn't it? Ever since you moved here, no one acts like they used to! Ryu is actually NICE to the nerds now. And-"
"Hey! He had nothing to do with it!" Ryu butted in. "I'm not attracted to your gender anymore, all right? So, you go and spread your damn rumors about me all that you want, but you leave Lyric out if it!" Ryu glared.
Aria huffed and picked up her purse off of the table next to her. "Whatever, fag!" She shouldered them both and sashayed away.
Lyric sighed. "Looks like that worked out."
