Monday afternoon, Lyric sat at his lunch table, eating from a bag of Cheetos. He had avoided Vance the best he could all morning and, so far, he had succeeded.
"Lyric!" Vance called, walking quickly to Lyric's table.
Until now. "Mr. Intukai," Lyric sighed.
Vance pulled out the chair next to Lyric's and smiled. "Hey, buddy. Where've you been all morning?"
Lyric rolled his eyes, adjusting his glasses. "Apparently not far enough from you," He said.
Vance chuckled. "You trying to hide from me, Lyric?" He asked.
Lyric frowned. "What do you think this is, hide and go seek? I was merely avoiding you. Do you know how loud you are?" He replied.
Vance only shrugged. "I try my best," He said cheekily.
Lyric popped a Cheeto into his mouth, munching silently. "How unfortunate..." He mumbled.
Vance chuckled. "So, we have that history test later. Could you help me study during free period?" He asked.
Lyric frowned. "But I already went over it with you yesterday," He said.
"But I need your help," Vance said.
Lyric shook his head. "I'm not helping you," He closed his eyes, crossing his arms.
Vance huffed. Then he smirked and leaned close to Lyric. He blew hot air into Lyric's ear. "Please?" He whispered breathily.
Lyric's eyes popped open in surprise and he found himself making a small whimpering sound in the back of his throat. His face grew hot as a blush fell on his cheeks. "Er...Fine..." He managed to say.
Vance grinned, leaning back. "Thank you!" He said.
Lyric bit his lip, nodding. "Y-yeah. Whatever..."
Vance stood up, ruffling Lyric's hair. "Meet me in the library then." And he walked off.
Lyric placed his hand on his ear, breathing heavily. ~That was...interesting... Why did I get so worked up? He was just so close and...it made me so...awkward. Why the hell was I so awkward? He only did it to make me study with him.~ Lyric thought, blushing.
"Hey, Lyric," Haruka sat down next to him, grinning like an idiot. She almost looked as though she...
~Oh, god, no... She did not just witness that...~ "Hey..." Lyric tried to sound casual.
Haruka only grinned wider. "So, anything interesting happen lately?" She asked.
Lyric blushed as he remembered Vance's hot breath against his skin. "Uh, n-no. Not at all," He said.
Haruka giggled. "You're such a liar! I saw you and Vance over here," She said.
Lyric bit his lip, his face growing warmer. "He just uh, asked me a question. Th-that's it..." He tried to defend.
Haruka giggled. "Mhmm....sure it is!" She sang disbelievingly.
Lyric huffed. "Whatever," He grumbled, looking down at the empty Cheetos package. The lunch bell rang and he crumpled the bag, walking to the door and tossing it in the trash as he went.
"Bye, Lyric!" Haruka called after him.
He sent her a small wave, biting his lip. ~Why does Haruka assume that Vance was doing it just because? It doesn't mean anything. And besides, I don't even like him!~ He thought. Then he stopped next to his locker. ~Or do I?~ And with the new thought swimming in his mind, he headed to the library to meet Vance.
