"Have we met before?" Mahir asks me eying me from top to bottom.

"Uhm, no."

"You feel very familiar."

"I would definitely know if we met because..."

"Because?"

Go for it Rita. "A girl can't forget such a handsome face."

"The weird part is that your voice sounds familiar...not exactly you." So firstly you don't say thanks to a compliment and indirectly insult me.

"Like the Danny said, I'm quite popular. I have a YouTube channel on which I post my singing videos. The year book of RoseWood is literally designed all about me because I'm a fashion icon, captain of the volleyball team and to top it of, I'm beautiful. I own the biggest mansion in RoseWood and if I'm lucky, this year I'll be crowned Ms Popular for the 3rd time in a row."

"Okay...that's quite a graphic explanation. But being rich & famous takes you nowhere Ms Sharma. It usually ends in smoke."

"Sir, you're underestimating me-"

"Thank you, Ms Sharma. You're dismissed."

Okay, that was weird. I leave the class to find Stella waiting for me and raises her eyebrows in suspense.

"Did he throw you on the table and have his ways with you?" Stella teases me with a wink.

"I wish...but it was a really weird conversation. These newbies!"

Stella didn't ask any further and I didn't bother telling her. We head to the cafeteria to grab a bite when Arjun and his irritating friends come to join us. The rest of the day was a complete blur. I kept on wondering about Mahir. Is there a chance we could've met? He's kind of arrogant, right?

Friday came fast and Mahir announced that extra classes will be given. The girls were on cloud nine after hearing this news. I don't say much in class except for admiring the hunk and gossiping with Stella. I had to do something to get him alone though. I don't mind my women getting some eye candy, but when Rita sets her eye on something she gets it.

I practically run this campus. And why not? I deserve to be treated like royalty. I even made it crystal clear to Mr Seghal that I'm boss here. Maybe because Principal Patel is my father's best friend, who is the richest businessman on earth. My father set the foundation of this college with his money. So either way, I get MY way.

Arjun's throwing a party at his house tomorrow and surprisingly the dude asked me to personally invite my econ professor. He really is dumb. I wonder if the dude will turn up or is he too cool to even party. Almost every professor was invited to campus parties because they we're young females. Now you understand why the girls went crazy for Mahir. I'm sure he's going to be there.

....Saturday.....

Before you know it, Stella & I stepped into the party like showstopper.

Stella: Wait a minute! What the fuck is going on here?

Ritasha: Like I have an idea!!

That stupid didn't mention it was a pool party. Stella and I wore our favourite evening dresses.

You might be thinking why such a popular girl hanging out with one girl only? Being popular has it's perks but the biggest problem is trust. I trusted Stella because we grew up together. She's been my sister from another mister since kindergarten.

Music invades the exterior as we walk around the party, making heads turn even though we weren't dressed for the pool.

Arjun: Babyyyy!!!!

Stella: Oh God, here we go.

Arjun hugs me for a long time, suddenly gripping me and throwing me into the pool. Bastard!! Okay, it's stupid but I really don't know how to swim and I'm hydrophobic. His pool was deep and I'm a short girl so I couldn't make it...even though I was wearing heels.

Stella: The fuck is your problem dude, you don't just throw a girl in the pool.

Arjun: Oh, you're next!!

Stella: Touch me and I'll kill you. Someone help her!! She doesn't know how to swim!

Yeah, I'm drowning...or I almost did until some jock jumped in the pool saving me. That's when my conscious left me.

Few minutes later I'm awakened, spewing out water, placed on a pool chair with everyone watching.

"You're okay?" Mahir asks me...as he stands next to me...shirtless...dripping in water...His body...I'm falling unconscious again. I knew he'll come...it finally dawned that he saved me. Still shocked!

Arjun: Baby, I'm so sorry. (Touches my arm)

Ritasha: Don't touch me! Take your useless party and shove it!! I'm done with you. Let's go, Stel.

Stella: Go suck a d-

Ritasha: Stella!!!

I pull her away going home. It's only right for me to dump him in front of everyone because I didn't deserve to be embarrassed like that. Stella enters the car park but her car won't start. Great! Lucky for Stella got a lift with some guy. She was dressed for a date anyways. Ugh I hate Arjun. I had to walk home, 3 blocks isn't really near when you don't walk that often.

"Get in." A voice comes from a car behind me. It's Mahir.

I get in the passenger seat...still embarrassed. He asks for my address and I tell him. He removes his shirt so I recover from the cold and he turns on the heater. "Thank you."

"It's not safe for a young girl walking alone at this hour."

"No, I meant thanks for saving my life. I owe you."

"Is that what you get at parties, for being famous?" He smirked with a half laugh at the end.

"Look, you was right. Arjun's a jerk! I didn't know it was a pool party. I would've never went if I had known."

"How would you get publicity then?"

"Okay, you can stop taunting me! Publicity has gone down the drain...thanks to that asshole!"

"Language!"

"Sorry..."

He drops me home and leaves. He's not so bad after all. I could get along with him. Especially now that he saved my life...he should definitely get something back in return.
