Chapter 1: New campus hottie

"Rita, wait for me!" Stella shouted as I waited at the top of the stairs.

"Could you like hurry up, sweetheart? We're getting late!" I shout back at her. "Still hung over from Saturday?"

"You have no idea."

Third year, first day of the second semester. The weather felt so good. I'm glad that winter was over and now I could wear shorts again. So I did by showing off my legs.

When she reaches the top she let's out a breath and starts talking again. "Can't wait to see the new professor! I hope he's hot and single."

"What if he's a female?" I tease her humorously.

"Don't be so negative, yaar!!"

"Sorry to burst your bubble but what makes you think principal Patel would do anything good for us in our final year?"

"You should ask your father to bribe him. Let's hope for the best for probably the last time."

"Then you better pray its a he." Silently hoping for the same.

"Why do you care anyways? Just because you have a boyfriend doesn't mean them single girls can't at least get some eye candy!"

Damn! I forgot that Arjun was my boyfriend. This whole holiday I haven't kept in touch with him. Anyway, I don't care because every holiday we end up avoiding each other. Or maybe I only do it. He's a trophy boyfriend more than anything else. "Thanks for reminding me, Stel!" I tell her sarcastically as we walk into the canteen.

Arjun: Hey, Ritz baby!! Over here!!

The idiot shouted so loud that everyone turned to look in my direction. Not surprised at their glowing smiles as I returned them while walking towards Arjun. I was the most popular girl after all. Sometimes I wonder what exactly was I doing with this dork.

Stella: She has a friend too if you hadn't noticed!! (Making weird gestures at herself)

Arjun: For 2 years I didn't, why now? I only missed my girl so so much, come here baby.

He gripped me into a tight hug, smiling away like crazy.

Ritasha: Hey, I missed you too.

I lie to him, as usual, breaking away from that uncomfortable embrace.

Arjun: Why didn't you call me? I've been so worried about you.

Ritasha: Chill, darling. Ritasha won't die so easily.

Stella: Yeah, for the amount of sins she commit I'm sure it's not anytime soon.

I nudge Stella to shut her up. Sometimes she says too much, and old habits die hard because I share almost everything with her.

Arjun: Awww, babe, I didn't mean it like that.

Ritasha: Its okay. You could've visited me, you're literally 3 blocks away.

Arjun: I was in California, didn't I inform you?

Ritasha: Not my problem history repeats itself every holiday!! Anyways we have econ class now. See you laters.

I tell him pulling Stella with me. I'm like so done tolerating him. In the beginning Arjun was a cool guy which is why I had a crush on him. But after a while he became so clingy and sensitive like a woman. Being popular, I could get anyone I wanted. I can't bare him anymore.

"You should seriously tell him to fuck off. He's not gonna take hints because he's dumb as rat." Stella tells me when we step into class taking our seats.
