Jaebum hummed happily to himself as he walked into the Wang residence.
He left while Jinyoung was sleeping so he could get him some chocolates, a bright idea he got when he looked at his sleeping face.
Now, as he walked into the house, filling the air with the smell of chocolate and coffee, he spotted Jackson on the couch in the living room.
"Hey, Jackson." Jaebum said, trying to hide his goofy smile at the thought of Jinyoung.
Jackson hummed, acknowledging him, but not looking up from his magazine.
Jaebum ran upstairs and walked into their room, noticing it was empty.
He checked the bathroom, and seeing it was empty too, he began to panic, searching through every room in the house before finally going back to Jackson.
"Where's Jinyoung?" Jaebum said frantically, fear in his eyes.
"He went grocery shopping..." Jackson said nonchalantly before looking up at the other.
"Why?"
"Jackson! Why would you let him go anywhere without me!?" Jaebum exclaimed worriedly, his hands running through his silky black hair in frustration.
"Whoa chill. He's with Mark, he'll be fine." Jackson said.
Jaebum looked at his feet, contemplating on waiting or running out there to look for him.
As Jaebum thought this, the door opened to reveal Bambam.
Before Jaebum could say anything, Bambam ran into the bathroom that occupied the first floor, coming out with a first aid kit.
Bambam looks fine. So why...
Jaebum looked back to the door to see a limping Jinyoung with his arm around Mark, who held him up by his waist.
It was like it happened in slow motion, and Jaebum just stared at the scene, still wondering if he was dreaming or not.
All he did was watch the two come to the living room, not moving or speaking.
Each step they took, Jaebum noticed a new detail in the bruises forming on his face.
They finally sat on the couch and Jaebum didn't say a word.
Bambam came to them with the first aid kit and gave it to Mark who opened it and began to put healing substances on Jinyoung's face.
Suddenly, Jaebum felt his emotions run through his body too quickly.
"WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!?" He roared unintentionally, making everyone in the house flinch at the sound.
Mark paused what he was doing, not looking at Jaebum before he continued to dab rubbing alcohol on Jinyoung's cheek.
"We were attacked." He said calmly.
Hearing that, now both Jaebum and Jackson were enraged.
Even so, Jackson remained calm, trying not to make the tension in the room grow further.
"What happened, baby?" Jackson asked, putting his hand on the small of his lover's back in a soothing manner.
"Three guys followed us through a shortcut on the way to the store. Two of them held me back and one started attacking Jinyoung when he refused to be raped." Mark said bluntly, closing the first aid kit.
Jaebum eyed his feet once again, not having the heart to look at Jinyoung, especially after leaving him alone to go through something like this.
"Bambam saved us." Mark added, looking at the latter with an appreciative expression.
At that, Jaebum raised an eyebrow and looked at Bambam, who had his arms crossed and a smug smirk plastered on his face.
He remembered all the times he had to save Bambam.
What? This kid can't even save himself.
"With this."
Bambam took the gun out of his pants and waved it around.
Jaebum's eyes grew wide when he saw the dangerous weapon in the other's hand.
"How the hell did you get that!?" Jaebum exclaimed.
"Don't ask." Bambam said, putting the gun back in his pants.
The room was filled with silence before Bambam spoke again.
"Those guys weren't part of the mafia. They were just disgusting, horny men." He continued in reassurance.
"Yea I figured as much." Jaebum mumbled, looking to his side with hooded eyes.
"But it's only a matter of time before they come for us." Bambam looked around the room, caution and awareness in his eyes.
It was at that moment that Jaebum realized that Jinyoung hadn't spoken the whole time he was home.
He found the courage to glance at his lover.
Jaebum helt his heart clench at the sight of his perfect skin demolished and decorated with scars along with some bruises.
Jinyoung didn't blink for the whole minute that Jaebum stared at him, he just looked off into the distance with dull, glossy eyes.
The light coming through the window was fading out, and everyone noticed.
"Let's get to bed. I think everyone's had a tiring day." Jackson said.
Everyone, except Jinyoung and Jaebum, trudged up to their rooms.
Jaebum looked at Jinyoung with a pained expression, then walked over to the couch he sat on.
"Come on, baby." Jaebum said quietly, trying to not let his voice break when they made eye contact.
He helped Jinyoung up and dragged him upstairs.
Once they got in the room, the two sat on the bed next to each other, silent and unknowing
Jinyoung hung is head and was sad that he let Jaebum see him like this.
Little did he know Jaebum was beating himself up inside.
He was angry at whoever did this to his baby, pure rage lighting a fire in him.
But he also felt the urge to cry because he was mad at himself the most for not protecting him.
"Let me see them."
"See what?"
"Your bruises."
