Chapter Twenty: The confrontation

        When I woke up I found that I was holding Luke’s hand. Also the lack of supervision, Savannah not being a mom, was slightly strange. I sat up, wincing and removed my hand gently from Luke’s without waking him up. I swung my legs off the bed and jumped down. ‘Wow Piper you just keep coming up with smarter ideas each day’ I walked towards the door and opened it to see Savannah, Sam, Ellie, and Justine all sprawled out on the chairs. “You know the security here really sucks here.” Savannah jumped up while the rest opened their eyes. 

“What are you doing exactly?” She asked while I closed the door.

        “Oh you know I decided to take a walk,” I said while rolling my eyes. “I was seeing if you guy’s were okay.”

        “If we were okay? Have you seen yourself,” Ellie said while smiling.

                “Watch the arm,” I said as I hugged her and Justine. “So, did you talk to Logan?”

        “We were waiting for you, but since you're well and walking we can go now,” Sam informed me while smiling. “We left Dylan and Daniella to watch him.” We walked into Logan’s room which was next to mine to find both Dylan and Daniella sleeping, while Logan was wide awake.

        “Okay seriously there needs to be a meeting about keeping watch,” I said which jolted Daniella who woke Dylan up.

“Piper, glad to see you're well,” Logan said. 

        “Can’t say the same for you,” I said. “It’s time to spill jerk wad.” 

        “Happily,” He smiled and gestured for us to sit. “Now where to start. All right well it was a beautiful day sixteen years ago I wa-”

“Cut the crap Logan,” I said. “You know what story I want to hear.”

        “Feisty,” He said. “Okay calm yourself, Mr.R came up to me after you took your abilities test. He told me to come with him and led me into his office, where Ione was also present, anyway he told us about you and your family, mostly your dad’s side of things. He also informed us of what he’s trying to do. I’m not sure if he used persuasion, but I agreed, and from then on I reported back to him about everything. I knew he had that friend of yours, whats his name Luke, tied up in the building and I informed him of the day that you were going. So, call me a traitor go for it, but frankly you're the ones who are traitors. Your betraying the school and our kind. This is for the greater good, and since you’ve failed to join us you’re frankly doomed.”

“What do you mean my parents?” I asked.

        “Oh Piper, clueless Piper,” He said. “It was mostly your dad’s side and how he was involved in all of this. Your poor mother got dragged into all of this, just for falling for the wrong man. That is until he turned out to be a traitor. Must run in the family.”

“You know nothing about my dad,” I spat.

        “Neither do you,” He said. “I can tell it bothers you. I know you Piper, which is why I’m giving you one last chance, come with me and join us.”

        “Obviously you know nothing about me,” I said irritation lacing my voice. “I’m not joining you Logan and frankly, you're not going anywhere.”

        “That’s where your wrong, sweetheart,” Mr.R said as he appeared next to Logan’s bed. “Mr.Walker is coming with me, and I think he’s informed you of enough.” He gave Logan a glare and put a hand on his shoulder. I raised my hand, ready to freeze him, but he disappeared. We all stood there in shock for a few minutes.

“Are you serious!” Ellie shrieked. 

        “Ellie calm down,” Justine said while putting a hand on her shoulder.         

“It’s fine we can now report him to the council,” Savannah said.

        “How they won’t believe us,” Daniella said. “They’ll just think we’re making it up because Mr.R failed us in math or to get attention.” 

“We have to try,” I said.

        “Why didn’t anyone get the conversation recorded,” Justine said. “Isn’t that why we have phones.” The all started arguing and blaming each other. 

        “SHUT UP!” I yelled and they all stopped talking and looked at me. “If we’re going to start blaming each other then we might as well give up now and surrender to Mr.R and Logan. This is probably what they want, for us to turn on each other. We need to stick together guys, we’re a group and it doesn’t matter who believes us or not. We know the real story, we know what really happened, and we’re going to do what we can to stop him and stop this stupid plan of his.” 

        “For someone who claims not to be wise you really do give great speeches,” Daniella said with a smirk. “And as cliche as it sounds I’d follow you to the end of the earth Prescott.”

        “I’m with Daniella or else you know she’d withhold kissing me,” Dylan said while putting an arm over Daniella’s shoulder. 

“Obviously what kind of best friend would I be if I didn’t say I’m on your side,” Savannah said. 

        “Like Dylan said I’m with Savannah, but it’s also because I really do find you trustworthy,” Sam said. We all turned to look at Ellie and Justine. 

“So, are you guys in?” I asked.

        “Will there be food?” Ellie asked. 

“Oh, and wifi,” Justine added.

        “Well, duh,” I said with a smile. They both nodded and gave me a hug. “The arm guys, seriously watch the arm it hurts.”

                “So, is this the moment were we all group hug because I don’t do hugging,” Daniella said. “Personal space issues.” 

        “Shut up Daniella and just join,” I said as we all did a very awkward group hug. “Okay, so no one mentions that ever again.” 

        “All right, should we like do a cliche all for one and one for all sorta think or do you guys want to break into singing were all in this together,” Savannah said.

“Savannah cracked a joke,” Daniella gasped. “It is the end of the world then.”

        “Okay before those two start bickering, why don’t we just agree that no one left behind,” I said with a smile.

“No one left behind,” They said in sync.
