I read the envelope and my facial expression completely changed.
Possibility of Paternity: 0%
Why did you make me think it would be something different." I said as I hit his shoulder.
"Because it was funny, and besides I knew I couldn't be the father." He said.
I cupped his face with my hand and kissed him.
"I love you." I said.
"I love you too. Now about your sister." He said.
"Oh, shit. Yeah what happened? Is she okay?" I asked.
"I don't know. Your brother Kayce called me on the way home and said to get to the hospital fast, Kai has been in an accident." He said.
"Okay then lets go." I said as I grabbed my purse & walked towards the door.
Corey followed behind me. He shut the door, and locked it.
We got in the car and drove the short distance to the hospital.
I practically ran out the car and in the doors straight to the front desk.
"I'm looking for Kai Carter." I said while tapping my fingers on the desk.
"Have a seat. A doctor will be out to update you momentarily." The receptionist said while not taking her eyes off the computer screen.
"Can you at least tell me if she's okay?" I said.
"Have a seat ma'am. Like I just told you a doctor will be out to update you momentarily." She said again while pointing to the chairs.
Corey grabbed me and ushered me to the chairs.
I took a seat. I was shaking, and nervous. Kai and me didn't have the relationship that Kayce and I had, nevertheless she was still my sister and I love him.
While waiting for the doctor to come and update momentarily, I phoned my mom.
Hey Ma. Kai has been an accident.
What? Is she okay?
Idk. Kayce told Corey, and Corey told me. We are at the hospital right now.
What are the doctors saying?
Ma, idk. We haven't talked to anyone but the rude ass receptionist ain't telling us nothing.
Well let me leave work. I'll be out there as soon as i can. I'll call your dad. See you soon. Love you.
Okay. Love you too.
I got off the phone with my mother, and l laid on Corey's shoulder.
Next thing i know and what seemed like hours later, Corey was waking me out.
