Chapter 8: The Electric Cat Siblings
 
Because of what I said triggered the prince. His face darkened and just any minute he will snap. “What did you say?!” Nanggigigil na tanong nito habang nanlilisik ang mga matang nakatingin sa akin.
 
“You can’t force someone to kneel in front of you just because you are one of the royalties. Not everyone will willingly follow your orders—not everyone will follow your orders even you are one of the royalties,” I answered without even blinking—looking intently in his eyes.
 
I want them to understand what I mean but I guess, this prince in front of me is close-minded—blinded by the fact that we’re one of the Betas. Halatang malaki ang galit, eh. Hindui naman siya ina-ano! Hmp! But I provoked him that’s why.
 
“You—” he didn’t finish his sentence when a deep voice interrupted him.
 
“That’s enough,” one single sentence but I felt the atmosphere turned heavier. I felt his intimidating aura that his emitting and we all look in his direction.
 
We saw a dashing man walking in front of me who has no emotion in his eyes while looking at this prince—yung kaaway kong prinsepe. Because of this sudden appearance, I grab the opportunity to leave this place.
 
Tumalikod na ako at hinila si Gen patungo sa susunod naming klase. Masyado na kaming late at ayaw kong maparusahan sa unang araw ko ng klase. Sira na nga lang, maparurusahan pa ako dahil sa na-late ako. Hmp!
 
“What’s their problem anyway?” Tanong ko kay Gen habang nagmamadali na kami.
 
Hindi lang ako makapaniwala sa nangyari. Kung dati lang ay iniiwasan ko ang mga gano’ng pangyayari sa dati kong school, dito naman hindi—nangyari pa talaga sa first day ko at wala akong ibang nagawa kung ‘di ang ngumuso.
 
Ayaw kong nakikipag-away, eh!
 
“Ang Alphas at Betas ay mayroong hindi pagkakaunawaan ngayon. Sinasabi ng mga Betas na ano pa ang saysay nila kung puro na lang ang Alphas ang binibigyan at pinadadala sa mga misyon,” huminga ng malalim si Gen. “Kaya nagkaroon kami ng sumbatan at pinaliwanag naman ni Headmaster Cadmus ang dahilan kung bakit ang Alphas ang kaniyang binibigyan ng misyon, but the Betas is not convince about his words, but then, they just told to headmaster that they understand—para matapos na. But you see, pinagpatuloy nila ang away. Akala namin tapos na pero hindi pa pala. Betas faced the royalties until they fought each other but Alphas are more superior than them kaya natalo sila,” wika ni Gen na ikinatango ko naman.
 
Nakarating naman kami sa classroom namin at nakahinga kami ng maluwag ng makitang wala pa ang aming teacher. Potion ang subject namin and Nana said that this subject teaches the students different kinds of potions such us medicines, antidotes, and other potions that can be a big help in the future.
 
Hindi na lamang namin pinansin ni Gen ang mga classmates namin at nagtungo sa mau-upuan. Nang makahanap na kami ni Gen ng bakanteng upuan ay sakto naman ang pagbukas ng pinto at lahat naman sila ay naalis ang mga matang nakatingin sa amin at nabaling sa gurong pumasok.
 
Pumasok naman ang isang babaeng guro—matangkad, maputi and she has a straight long hair and green eyes. She looks beautiful and her face look pleasant but looks can be deceiving. Baka pareho lang ‘to ni Mr. Evans na mahirap magpa-quiz.
 
“Good morning, class!” She greeted while smiling at us.
 
“Good morning, Ms. Davis!” Betas greeted in unison.
 
Then Ms. Davis looked in my direction and she smiled brightly, “For our new student, I’m Niña Davis, your Potion teacher,” pagpakikilala nito. I was about to stand up when she spoke which made me stop. “No need to introduce yourself, I already know you,” sabi niya habang nakangiti pa rin sa akin na ikina-tango ko lamang.
 
Famous yarn?
 
“Okay, so, let’s start,” she went to the back of her desk while facing us. “Our lesson for today is you will make a poison potion and use it to your weapons. We will also make an antidote for that but we will do that for our next class,” she said while still having this pleasant smile on her face. Then she looked at her wristwatch and said, “Starts now!” After that, may bigla na lang nag-appear na mga gamit sa lamesa namin.
 
Lahat tumahimik dahil nagsimula na kaming lahat. We wore a protective lab gowns and it reminds me of our science subject wherein we experiment something. But this one is dangerous, especially, the potion that we have to make today. Nagsisilbing guide namin ang Potion Book upang magawa namin ito ng maayos.

Ilang minuto na ang nakalilipas ay wala pa ring tapos. Ang iba naman ay nag-uulit dahil palpak ang gawa nila at hindi namin natapos ang paggawa ng potion dahil biglang nagsalita si Ms. Davis kaya pinatigil kaming lahat sa ginagawa.
 
“Okay, class, since we don’t have enough time, we will continue this tomorrow. Then after that, we will see if these potions you made are all effective,” pagkasabi ni Ms. Davis iyon ay sakto namang tumunog ang bell hudyat na tapos na ang second class.
 
Now, I found the subject here that I don’t like.
 
“Bye, class,” paalam ni Ma'am at nagpaalam na din kami sa kaniya. Nawala ang mga gamit sa aming lamesa sa paggawa ng potion ng makalabas si Ms. Davis ng classroom.
 
Habang nagliligpit ay bigla namang nagsalita ‘tong katabi ko na kanina pa tahimik. “Hey, Lars, you okay?” Tanong niya kaya napakunot naman ang nuo ko ng bumaling ako sa kaniya.
 
“Yeah. I’m okay. Why?” Tanong ko naman habang nagtatakang nakatingin pa rin sa kaniya.
 
“Nothing,” sagot niya na may kasama pang pag-iling at habang nakangiti.
 
Huh? Problema nito?
 
“What’s wrong?” Tanong ko naman sa kaniya pero ng ngumiti siya ay lalo ko itong ipinagtaka.
 
“Wala. Mamaya ko na lang sa ‘yo sasabihin, okay?” Tumango na lang ako. “Tulungan mo akong mag-ayos ng gamit, kauusapin ko si headmaster para makalipat na ako sa dorm mo. Pagkatapos nating mag-lunch ay pupuntahan ko muna siya and while negotiating with headmaster, go back to your dorm first and wait for me,” sabi niya kaya napatango na lang ako ulit ako at tumahimik na lang.
 
Lumabas na kami ng classroom at sabi ni Gen ay na sa kabilang building daw ang third class namin which is Power Control. Wala daw sa main building dahil ibang sections daw ang may gamit no’n. This building was like for Betas only—exclusively for Betas only.
 
Habang naglalakad kami ay madaming mga estudyante na naman ang napatitingin sa amin pero habang patuloy lang kami sa paglalakad ay mayroong humarang sa amin na isang grupo ng mga lalaki at babae—the Betas.
 
“Wait, Miss Nerdy, we just want to welcome you to our group,” nakangising sambit ng lalaki na hindi ko naman kilala habang napatango naman ang mga na sa likod niya. 
 
Naramdaman ko ang mahigpit na hawak sa akin ni Gen at tila alam ko na ang mangyayari. I look at Gen and she’s just looking at the Betas bothered. I didn’t say anything, so does she until one of them talked again.
 
“At gusto din naming magpa-salamat dahil may bago na naman kaming mabu-bully,” sa pagkasabi ng babae ng mga katagang ‘yon ay sabay-sabay silang napangisi at nakalolokong tumingin sa amin ni Gen.
 
This is bad…
 
Napansin ko namang napahinto at napatingin sa amin ang lahat ng mga naglalakad na mga estudyante at pagkatapos ay magbubulungan. Peri ang mas nakaagaw ng paningin ko ay ang mga Alphas na nakatingin din sa amin ngayon.
 
Hanggang sa nakita ko na lang na mayroon ng mga hawak ang Betas—itlog at mga harina and they are ready to throw it to us. Gen and I didn’t do anything to stop them ngunit nagulat na lamang ang lahat ng biglang kumulog at kumidlat ng malakas, lalo naman ng may mabilisang kidlat ang bumulusok sa pagitan namin ng mga Betas—making them stop. But what shock them the most was the creature that feared by many who appeared when the lighting vanished.
 
Zephyr.
 
“WHAT THE FUCKING HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!” Nanlilisik na mga mata niyang tanong habang pinapalibutan ng kaniyang kidlat ang kaniyang buong katawan.
 
Nakakamatay na kidlat.
 
Rinig na rinig ko ang singhapan nilang lahat at kitang-kita ko ang takot mula sa kanilang mga mata habang nakatingin sa galit na nilalang na nakaharap ngayon sa mga Betas na tila tinakasan na ng kaluluwa. Hindi rin nakatakas sa mga mata ko ang mga Alphas na gulat na gulat habang nakatitig kay Zephyr na nanlilisik pa rin ang mga mata.
 
Naramdaman ko naman ang mga pararating na mga teachers—even Headmaster Cadmus but I didn’t bother looking at them but I heard what headmaster said.
 
“Zephyr, one of the electric cat siblings.”

We are on the way to our next subject when we saw the complete member of Betas that look like they are waiting for someone. And when our eyes met, they looked on us sharply—so does we. I still can’t forget how they embarrassed themselves. Asking a fight to royalty like us is nothing but embarrassment.
 
We were about to go and ignore them when we felt the energy—an aura that wants to come out but something is holding it back. We all stilled before looking at each other and unconsciously looked on our back and saw the Betas that are facing the two women that we faced earlier.
 
We already know what will happen next—especially, they are facing the poor nerd who dares to talk back earlier. If Aiden didn’t interfere, for sure Chris had already broken one of the academy’s rules—he might use his power earlier.
 
I know the lady who’s with that nerd but I wonder why she’s not doing anything to stop her members. But I just remembered that she’s a loner—she has no friends and prefers being alone than being one of the Betas who only bully the students here since our misunderstanding happened.
 
The Betas readied themselves to throw something to the two ladies who are doing nothing but stand. But what happened next is too fast and that creature’s appearance was like slow motion for us. The lightning bolt is too fast and all we can do is stare at the creature who’s mad right now.
 
His voice boomed and the sky is mad. While feeling how mad he is right now makes us feel nothing but chill. I’m scared, I admit. We are all scared because Zephyr is mad right now when our ancestors told us not to make him mad because he is too dangerous when mad. You shouldn’t make all the supreme guardians mad—especially, Zephyr who’s short-tempered.
 
“Zephyr…” Alphas said in unison.
 
We can not believe that he’s already here! We all thought that it will be Aslan whom we will be going to see here first but we’re wrong! It was Zephyr but I think, our life will be put in danger because that guardian is mad right now.
 
“I SAID WHAT THE FUCKING HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!” His voice boomed again at sinasabayan ito ng kalangitan.
 
He’s only facing in one direction—the direction where the Betas are and I can see them being pales—they all paled while the sharp eyes of Zephyr was looking at them. Kung kami ay natatakot na dahil sa presensya niya, paano pa kaya ang Betas na tila dito galit ang guardian na si Zephyr.
 
“Zephyr, calm down,” sambit ni headmaster kaya napatingin sa direksyon namin ang galit na si Zephyr at hindi namin inaasahan ‘yon.
 
Zephyr smirk while his eyes are still sharp. The mini lighting bolt in is body looks attractive but dangerous. “Cadmus, the-so-called-adonis by my master,” nakangisi niyang sambit ngunit ramdam pa rin namin ang galit niya.
 
“I will take that as a compliment,” sambit ni headmaster kahit na mukhang natatakot na rin siya pero hindi niya lang ito pinakikita.
 
Zephyr roll his eyes before the sky roared even more. “Enough with this conversation,” masungitna wika ni Zephyr at napahinga naman kami ng maluwag dahil sa sinabi nito.
 
But what he said next makes me want to burry these Betas alive! “YOU’RE THE HEADMASTER, YET YOU LET THESE FILTHY STUDENTS BULLY MY MASTER?! WHAT THE FUCKING-FUCK?!” Galit na galit na sigaw niya at kasabay nito ay ang pagdilim ng kalangitan at ang paglakas ng hangin. Mas lalo ring dumami ang kidlat na nakapalibot sa kaniyang katawan. 
 
No one can utter any single word and some students lose their consciousness because they can’t handle Zephyr’s intimidating presence anymore. I can see that there are students who want to leave this place yet they can’t move even a muscle—neither I.
 
“WHAT THE FUCKING-FUC—” hindi na natapos pa ni Zephyr ang kaniyang sasabihin ng mayroong sumingaw na sanhi upang hindi niya maituloy ang sasabihin.
 
“That’s enough, Zep!” The lady shouted and when we look who’s the lady was—it left our mouth hung open.
 
“M-Miss Ford, w-what are you—” hindi na rin natapos pa ni headmaster ang kaniyang sasabihin dahil nagsimula nang magsumbatan ang dalawa—not minding there surroundings.
 
“And what do you want me to do?! Let these fucking filthy students bully you?!” Asked Zephyr and every time he talks, the sky is roaring.
 
“No! I want you to do is to calm down yourself before you’ll hurt them! You’re scaring them!” The lady—the nerd is a bit shouting and she’s frowning.
 
We’re all confused about what’s happening right now—but don’t tell me, this woman is the summoner of the Zephyr?! Oh, damn. Why I didn’t realize that earlier?! It’s too obvious already!
 
“Oh, come on!” They tried to hurt you!” Katwiran ni Zephyr na malalim ang pagkaka-kunot ng nuo.
 
She really is the summoner.
 
“Aish! You brat!” I don’t know but it made me smile secretly. That nerd looks cute when she stomped her feet on the group and looked annoyed. Her tone is annoyed but it’s still sweet and soothing.
 
“You stubborn!”
 
“You hardheaded cat!”
 
Mas lalo naman kaming natigilan ng mayroon na namang lumitaw and I guess, this is Sarafina—the sister of Zephyr. Dahil magkasama na sila ay mas lalong dumoble ang nakaka-intimidang enerhiya na nagmumula sa kanila. The electric siblings are here… four to go and the supreme guardians will be completed.
 
“What the—” sambit ni Zephyr but he cut off again by his master and his sister.
 
“Shut up!” Sabay na sambit ni nerd at ni Sarafina dito na ikinasimangot lamang ng huli.
 
They already forgot about us, huh?
 
“Ano’ng sabi sa ‘yo ni Lara kanina, ha?! SAGOT!” Saad ni Sarafina na pinagagalitan ang kaniyang kapatid.
 
Now, we felt that Zephyr is slowly calming down that’s why we sigh in relief but still, these siblings’ aura intimidates us and we still feared that one of them might snap.
 
Zephyr tsked before rolling his eyes. “I can’t just let these filthy students bully her! I already controlled myself earlier but not this time!” He answered before looking in our direction.
 
Oh, damn. He knows!
 
“You know she can handle herself, you old cat!” His sister answered back before she look around. “Sorry for what my brother did. But he won’t snap just like that if he has no reason. He’s a short-tempered old cat and making him mad only means nothing but danger,” Sarafina sat confidently and she’s now serious. “Our Lara can handle herself but this old cat beside me won’t think twice to interfere,” she continued before she look us—Alphas one by one.
 
I know what that look means.
 
She looked at the faculty staff, especially, headmaster. “I know you want to talk to us but we’re still upset because of what happened. But I will try calming down my brother and once he’s good, then we will personally go to your office,” she said to him and the headmaster nodded. Then Sarafina jump to her summoner and she immediately catches her. “Let’s go, my dear.”
 
The four of them left while we stayed where we are standing—still can’t believe what happened. This is our first time seeing one of the supreme guardians and we’re just hearing stories about them before. But seeing not one but two of them and feeling their intimidating aura is beyond unbelievable!
 
Paano pa kaya kung kumpleto na sila?
 
“Gago ka, Chris! Summoner pala ‘yon ng electric cats!”
