The Marriage

After the mundr discussion, Viggo and Ann could contain their happiness. Ten days. Ten days from now and they will be husband and wife! They couldn't thank Steve enough for what he has done for them.

Ann felt like her old self again and she was incredibly happy being together with Viggo. These ten days were quicker than normal for the planning of a wedding. A normal wedding would be organised within a year, but because she was Steve's daughter, there were special occasions planned and so many more extras. It is tradition to hold a marriage on a Friday, which is Freya's Day. Steve knew time was short, but he also knew he could manage something big on such a short term.

Steve had asked them what wishes they had for their wedding a few days before. It was time Viggo and Ann told Steve what they wanted.

"Dad? Do you have a minute?" Ann stepped into his house with Viggo close behind. "Of course, sweetheart. What is wrong?" He welcomed them with open arms. "Nothing is wrong. We are here to tell you what our wishes are for our wedding. Do you think you can still arrange those in time?" Ann held on to Viggo's hand in a show of love. "Depending on what kind of wishes you have, I think I can." He smiled.

As they had discussed their wishes, Viggo turned to Ann for something important. "Sweetie, I have to go to my home island to get something I need for our wedding. It might take a few days for me to get back." He held her hands in his while their eyes were locked. "Will you be back in time for..." Ann could barely get it out of her mouth. "I will make sure I will be back in time." He held on to her chin and kissed her sweetly.

Viggo left for the ships to travel back to his home island. Ryker accompanied him, probably to discuss wedding things she is not supposed to know about, too. "Don't worry, Ann. You know Viggo is a man of his word." Havòk came to stand beside her, he promised Viggo to take care of her while he would be gone. "I know."

Five days later

Ann was working on some self-made jewelry she could wear on her special day, when a familiar voice spoke up to her. "Are you making that for our special day or for some other occasion?" She turned around and ran to him, crashing in his arms. "I missed you." "I missed you too, my beautiful blossom." He tightened his grip on her in the comforting hug they shared for that moment.

Later that day, Ann was taken away from Viggo's side to have her wedding dress made. It was beautifully white with not too many frills on it, allowing her shoulders to be showing. She truly felt special in that dress and she hoped with every bit in her body she would make Viggo and her father emotional when they would see her. She would have a short fur cape for when it would get a little chilly in the evening. She had asked Jake and Leonora to be her witnesses for the wedding.

Viggo had made some preparations himself too. Looking through special clothes with Jake for him made him nervous. "Viggo, you okay?" Jake asked him. "I don't know. It feels weird that Ann soon will actually be my wife. Everything is going so fast right now." "Sit down, it looks like you are getting weak in your legs." Jake gave him a chair. "Thanks, and maybe I am getting weak at the thought of that. And not to forget, we are sort of becoming brothers-in-law." Viggo looked up at Jake and they both shared a laugh. 

"I'm just glad you are there to look after my sister. You are so good for her and give her everything she needs. I couldn't wish for anyone else to be her husband than you. You make her happy and that's what's most important to all of us." Jake said and Viggo was touched by his words, only showing a quick shy smile before turning his gaze back to the ground. "Come on. Let's get back at finding you something special." Jake offered. 

They soon found Viggo some fitting clothes for the big day. A long red tunic shirt, a long fur bear cape and brown pants with a belt that would fit nicely to his full outfit. Viggo was over the moon that he had found such a great outfit and was happy about the support Jake showed to him. Viggo had asked Ryker and Havòk to be his witnesses.
