Wait...I seem to remember that Cosette has fully prepared a room for you in Mr. Gille's house, Valjean. She's set up a whole damn bedroom and has arranged for all of your stuff to be taken there if you want. Heck, your room is even right next to hers and Marius'. What are you crying for?
But yeah he sobs.
He also takes out a small box that he has kept with him for as long as he has had Cosette. What is in it?
The little black mourning clothes thought he bought her when he first took her from the Thenardiers.
And he cries over that, too.
