So Marius really wants to find two men. Who are these men?
Thenardier (STILL? Marius wtf just stop he isn't worth it)
And
The guy that saved him from the barricade (*sigh* Marius he's literally right in front of you every day I mean c'mon)
Hugo does mention that Thenardier seemed a criminal to everybody but Marius, but only because Thenardier saved his father. Hugo also says that given the circumstances in which Thenardier saved Marius' father (he was just trying to search his body for gold and such), Marius didn't really owe him any thanks. HA THERE GOOD HUGO AGREES WITH ME
Mrs. Thenardier died in prison (good riddance sorry not sorry) and we know that Eponine is dead. Mr. Thenardier and the younger daughter (her name is Azelma idk if you remember or care) have disappeared.
Marius sends out people to look for the man who saved him, but they come up empty.
The servants who took Marius from Valjean that night don't recognize him because he was so covered in blood and mud.
One day Marius expresses that he would give all the money he owned to this man if he could find him to Valjean.
Valjean is like, "Huh."
