Alone - Pokemon Fanfic

"Ash Ketchum! Why won't you listen to me!" I yelled at the phone. I was a new trainer with black hair and brown eyes. I had a similar hat as Ash, and wore my hair in a ponytail.

"I am listening Layla, but do you know how hard it was to get here? I'm not back-tracking for you." Ash yelled back, and his new friends glanced worried at each over.

"Ash! I can't start alone! And Misty said she is too busy running the gym to help me! I went all the way to Hoenn to find May, and she isn't even here! I am not travelling to Sinnoh to find Dawn either!" The people around at the Pokemon center were looking at me in a mixture of annoyance and worry.

"Then go back to Kanto to find someone else." Ash replied and then he sighed. "Hang on; I'll get Professor Oak to send Snivy to help you. I just can't go back to Kanto for your journey at the moment. I'm sorry." Ash turned off the call and I almost ripped my hair out in rage.

"Goodness Ash Ketchum!" I said and then sat down, waiting for Snivy's Pokeball to be sent over.

"Hey. You look annoyed." A man with purple hair and green clothing said to me, sitting next to me. I thought he looked like a hippie. I sighed and decided to tell the man what happened, giving the fact that everyone else has heard it.

"My brother won't come home to help me on my journey... And now I'm waiting for Professor Oak to send over his Snivy's Pokeball, but I have no idea if I should go back to Kanto, or start my journey here." I admitted, and the man smiled kindly.

"My name is Harley, and that kind of stuff is really annoying. You know, once you get your Snivy tell me, and I can pay for your boat trip back to Kanto. I'm going that way as it is." Harley said and I considered this offer.

"Thanks Harley. May I ask, do you do contest or gym battles?"

"I do contest. I was in the Grand Festival for here." Harley admitted and I got really excited.

"Really? Wow! Could you train me? I want to do contests!"

"Ah... I don't think I could train you. I prefer to go alone." Harley said and I sighed.

"Layla! Professor Oak is calling for you!" Nurse Joy exclaimed, holding the phone out to me.

"Will you be here once I get Snivy?" I asked and Harley nodded, so I ran up and saw Professor Oak.

"Layla! Any luck in chasing Ash?" He asked, holding Snivy's Pokeball, ready to transfer it.

"No. But I managed to get a free ride back to Kanto thanks to a coordinators generosity. Do you think me and Snivy will get along?" I asked worried and the Professor nodded.

"Here you go. See you back in Kanto." Professor Oak said, transferring Snivy's Pokeball, and when I showed him it was safe in my possession, he hanged up.

"Harley! I'm ready!" I called out and followed him to the boat
