"Drew... Are you sure you're OK?" May asked me and I sighed. I looked at her, trying to make all the annoyance be seen. She had been bugging me for ages.
"May. I'm fine." I snapped and stormed ahead of the group, but May caught up quickly.
"I know you're stubborn, but you have never hesitated to tell me your feelings before." May snapped before pretending to be me. "'Who are you? You don't have a chance of beating me' 'You're so weak, I feel sorry for your Pokemon.'"
"You believe all that? I really do feel sorry for your Pokemon." I snapped again, and left May just standing there confused I listened to find out what she was talking about.
"What?" She asked as Dawn and Kenny caught up to her and started giggling. "What are you two laughing at?"
"Nothing!" Dawn and Kenny called out together and Layla stood next to May.
"They are weird... I wonder what is wrong with Drew. I mean, if you think there is something wrong..." Layla said and May smiled.
"I have no idea... I haven't ever travelled with him, so he might even act like this all the time..." May admitted and Layla shrugged. She looked up the hill as they continued onwards.
"Father always told me that if something is wrong, you'll know it. Butterfree act so free, but they hide their inner knees or something like that..." Layla said and May laughed.
"Is your father a poet?" May asked and Layla nodded.
"Yea and a professor! He is amazing!" Layla said and May looked confused for a second.
"Is your father Professor Oak?" Layla nodded, slowly and sadly, but then she shook her head.
"If you want to know about my family, wait until I've eaten dinner and am in a story telling mood!" Layla said and she ran the last leg of the hill, waving at the houses below.
"Is this it?" I asked, and I ended up sounded really snobby. I didn't mean it to sound so snobby.
"Yea! This is Pallet Town! It is amazing, isn't it?" Layla asked and I gave her a long stare before shaking my head.
"This place looks like a ghost town." I admitted and Layla gasped. It was true...
"What?!!" Layla gasped and May sighed.
"Drew!!!" She yelled and I rolled my eyes. Of course they wouldn't see it like that. "This is her home town; you can't say stuff like that!"
"I say what I want." I said and he started walking down the hill.
"Hang on! Let me introduce you to my family!" Layla yelled, running in front of me and she tripped over something.
"Are you talking about, Ash?" A wild purple-headed hippie called out from the bush.
"No! No! No!" Layla yelled at Harley and everyone looked at each over confused.
"Oh, but he IS your brother." Harley said, and Layla shook her head.
"No! How the h*** did you get here?" Layla asked and everyone gasped at the sudden hostility of Layla.
"Layla, I am sorry..." Harley started but Layla shook her head quickly.
"No. And you will not bring Ash up as my brother, ever again!" Layla snapped, and she pushed herself up off the floor and continued walking down the hill, Dawn and Kenny followed her.
"Wow... She really doesn't like you." May said and she pulled me after her as she followed everyone down.
"Serves you right for humiliating her." Paul said shrugging and walked down after the others
