I watched Layla's expression change to happy to worry and smirked. At least she knew what opponents to be worried about.

"Great job Layla! That win against Harley was amazing!" May exclaimed as Layla came out. She glanced at me and I pulled out my Pokeball. We went back onto the stage, where the crowd was cheering wildly.

"LOVE YOU DREW!!!!!!"

"GO GET HIM LAYLA!"

"YOU TWO ARE AMAZING!!"

"DREW MARRY ME!"

"LAYLA! GET READY TO BE NUMBER 1!!!" We looked at each over and smiled up at the crowd, waving. I released my Roserade, and she released her Snivy.

"GO! GO! WIN! GO! GO! WIN!"

"YOU'VE GOT THIS LAYLA!"

"GO OUT WITH ME DREW!"

"Roserade, petal dance."

"Snivy, ride on your leaf tornado."

"Roserade, solar beam."

"Go behind and leaf blade."

"Turn around and fire." It was a see-saw on the points. I would get some, and then Layla would catch up.

"Roserade, magical leaf."

"OK Snivy, go next to Roserade and when the leaf comes, jump and use leaf blade." Worked. Both hit, which was smart. I wasn't going to lose though.

"Roserade, petal dance." Snivy fell and fainted. Layla smiled and returned Snivy while me and Roserade bowed.

"WE LOVE YOU DREW!!!"

"YOU'RE AMAZING!!!"

"DREW, MARRY ME!"

"IT'S OK LAYLA! NEXT TIME!" I received my ribbon and Layla ran off stage. As I went out, I found everyone else, but not Dawn and Layla.

"What happened?" I asked May and she smiled sadly.

"Layla was crying. I guess it was hard, to almost be there for their first contest." Kenny said and I sighed.

"I'll go find her. It would be hard, especially after such a good battle." I said and May ran after me. We found Layla crying on the edge of the forest. When she saw us come she wiped away her tears quickly.

"H... Hey." She said and we sat down next to her. I remembered when Solidad bet me. I wonder what she is doing at the moment.

"Hi. It's OK you know." May said and Layla smiled.

"Hmm."

"You know, I cried my first lose too." I said and Layla looked at me confused.

"I... I was so close... And I just wanted to prove that I was really good." She whispered and Kenny walked up.

"To who? Paul?"

"Kenny!" May hissed and he looked at her, giving his best 'Well it's true' look.

"No. To you guys. You have tons of experience, and I'm still new."

"It's not your fault. You are still new, and you'll get there. Defiantly." I said and Layla sighed. She looked up at us and nodded.

"Yea. I will. Thanks." I said and started laughing. I still wondered where Dawn and Paul were. They should be helping Layla, but I guess it was OK now. We pushed ourselves up and went back to the Pokemon center, where Dawn was kissing Paul on the cheek.
