To be honest, I didn't mind being alone at the moment. It gave me time to think of my strategy. Maybe I could use Roserade to give the flower this time.
She is too self-centred to realise. My head was arguing with me. I sighed and rolled my eyes, knowing that as soon as a boy came along that May would like, I would only be thought of as an acquaintance, and not a friend. H***. How is that coordinator so blind?
"Rose?" Roserade asked, and I smiled down at it. Roserade was probably the only one who understood my frustration. I should open to it a little more, because she is the only one who kept me sane when I was around May.
"Roserade." I whispered to her, and then shook my head. Roserade already knew how I felt. In fact, I really wasn't keeping it hidden. The whole group knew it. Layla would be really happy that I loved May, while Dawn would worry about for her. Paul didn't care about anyone except Layla, that much was obvious, especially when N was around, like he was now. Kenny knew, but he kept it to himself. Why is it the girls you actually love are so oblivious. I mean, Dawn didn't know about Kenny until Kenny battled for her, and Layla was obviously oblivious about Paul.
"Rose!" Roserade whispered to me, breaking me out of my train of thoughts, and pointed over to where May was training with Glacion. She really had grown. Before when I met her, she only trained a couple of days before the contest. I knew I really should be doing some training too.
"Not now Roserade. Come on, let's work on our moves." I told the grass Pokemon, and I could feel it sigh, but she was ready for training. And now was the peace and quiet to do it.
"Hey! Hey! Drew! Can I train with you?" Layla called out as she ran up to me. She was training a lot too, giving the fact that she had no idea what the contest really was about. You could train all you want for your first contest, but it wasn't until you lost that you realised what you needed to do.
"Whatever. Just don't disturb Roserade." I snapped to her, flicking my hair back. For a quick second I wondered if May was watching, before setting one hundred percent attention to the training. And it wasn't until midway through training I realised that Layla had released her Pokemon, and together they were watching me. So much for training.
"Roserade, finish it off with magical leaf." I commanded, and Roserade cut the petals from petal dance apart. It was meant to symbolise a broken heart, but I just didn't feel it. Roserade was putting too much happiness into it.
"That was beautiful... Can Snivy learn moves like that? It would be amazing!" Layla called out from the sidelines, looking over at Snivy who just stared back at her. I could tell it was an 'I'm not doing that' look. I usually gave it to May when she wanted me to do anything.
