"So he was captured by some new Team Rocket members called Regina and Jackson?" Dawn gasped even though she had been told about a hundred times already. It was obvious that everyone went looking for him, although you can tell he was grateful for it. You could tell that he and May we repairing their relationship, and now I understood what was wrong with Drew earlier. Kenny and Dawn were acting really childish together, but it was cute. And then, Paul seemed like he didn't like anyone. It was kind of... Sad.
"Now what?" Dawn asked and I sighed.
"Well... Viridian City is the closest place from here, it has a gym, and I'm pretty sure there might be a contest there." I said, and Gary agreed.
"Layla... Here." Gary said, handing me a Pokeball.
"What?" I asked and he smiled.
"It's Umbreon's Pokeball; you'll take care of him for me?" He asked, and I nodded, looking over at Paul.
"But, you don't think I would be so childish and unlevel your Pokemon?" I asked and Gary laughed.
"You can't unlevel Pokemon. And they way you acted to help Umbreon, I believe you would take good care of him." Gary said, and as we embarked he waved.
"So. I did help you get Umbreon in the end, didn't I?" Paul bragged which surprised me; he didn't seem much like the bragging type.
"Yea, I guess you did." I said, laughing. I'm not sure why, but I liked Paul. I've never really had a Human friend, beside Ash and Gary.
"Ah..." Paul said, and he suddenly became himself again, almost stone solid. No expressions displayed covered him. It was kind of sad.
"Paul..." I asked and he looked behind him at me. He looked concerned, which also made me surprised. He could have no emotions, to every emotion in a matter of minutes.
"You need something." He stated instead of asked. I blushed and the shook my head.
"N... No. I'm fine..." I said and he continued on. I wondered if I disturbed him.
"In love? Love, why is everyone in love?" Max exclaimed walking around and looking at everybody. He stopped and looked at me and Paul, and sighed. "Even you two!"
"What?" I exclaimed and Paul shook his head and stormed way ahead. Max looked at Paul, and then me, and looked worried for a little bit.
"Did I say something wrong?" Max asked and I glared at him, and he shied away.
"Yes." I said and run up to catch up with Paul, but he was just ignoring me. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get him to talk. I sighed and stopped walking, and looked behind me, wondering if it was too late to go back and find Ash.
"Are you coming?" I heard Paul asked, and although he wasn't looking in my direction, I knew he was talking to me.
"I'm coming."
