"Snivy! Use Vine Whip!" Layla called out and Snivy attacked Torterra.

"Energy Ball." Paul said to Torterra, and Snivy was knocked back.

"Snivy!" Layla gasped and she watched as Snivy struggled to get up.

"Kenny, who do you think is going to win?" Dawn asked me. She was hugging close to herself in fear of Layla losing.

"Well, Paul, most likely. It is Layla's first battle, and Paul constantly beats Ash, and he is one of the strongest trainers I know." I replied, giving the best answer I could while Dawn was staring at me.

"Snivy! Attract!" Layla called out after checking Snivy's moves with the Pokedex.

"Kenny... Attract is really good, isn't it?" Dawn asked and I nodded.

"If Layla uses attract right, she might be able to beat Paul."

"Torterra! Snap out of it, now!" Paul yelled, trying his hardest to hide his distress.

"Snivy! Use leaf storm and then leaf blade!" Layla yelled, and both attacks hit Torterra; however Torterra snapped out of attract.

"Energy ball!" Paul yelled out, and it hit, knocking Snivy out.

"Snivy!" Layla yelled, running to her fainted Pokemon and kneeling down to it.

"Good job Torterra." Paul said, returning Torterra back to his Pokeball. He looked as Layla hugged Snivy and returned her.

"Great job Snivy."

"How come you praise your Pokemon when you lose?" Paul asked, and Layla nodded.

"It... It was my fault we lost. I should of used the attract better, and not get caught off at the beginning. And Snivy was really strong." Layla said and Dawn sighed.

"She lost."

"It was a good battle for her first." I said, and it was still the truth. It was a good first battle. I glanced over at Dawn, who was smiling at me, and then looked past her at May and Drew. May was trying to talk to Layla after the battle, and who knows what Paul was doing.

"Drew... Are you OK?" May asked, and Drew looked over at her.

"What? Oh... Yeah. I'm fine." Drew said, dropping a rose on May's lap.

"Oww!"

"Did it hurt you?" Drew asked, looking for the thorns.

"Hey! A Pidgey! Snivy, come help me!" Layla said, and Snivy came out and stood in front of Pidgey.

"Look! Layla is going to catch her first Pokemon." I whispered to Dawn, and she smiled. I loved it when she smiled.

"Snivy, use vine whip! Now, go Pokeball!" Layla yelled, waiting for Pidgey to be weak before the Pokeball is thrown. One shakes. Two shakes. Three shakes.

"She caught it!" Dawn and May called out at the same time and the boys shrugged, while Paul took out his Pokedex to find out Pidgey's moves.

"Sand attack and tackle? Wouldn't it be easier if you caught a stronger one?" He asked and Layla shook her head after picking up the Pokeball and returning Snivy.

"Nope. Cause I can train Pidgey to become strong and beautiful. Contest and Gyms are all going to crumble!" Layla called out excitedly.

"Well, let's get going." Drew said, picking up and continued walking, flicking his hair in his usual manner.

"Wait for me Drew!" May called, running after him. Layla and Paul lagged behind, leaving me and Dawn walking next to each over.

"Dawn... Why didn't you accept my request then?" I asked, and Dawn hesitated.

"After all the cheering, and help that Ash gave me, I wanted to repay him in helping cheer his battle. But, I'm here now." Dawn said, and she reached out for my hand, while I reached out for her.
