AN: Gasp! Did I... did I write fluff?? It appears that I did, seeing as how all the characters are both alive and happy... how strange. But enjoy!

Jack woke up to his daughter jumping on top of him. He grunted in surprise, but shoved his face in the pillow and stubbornly refused to open his eyes. Maybe if he didn't move, she'd go away and he could go back to sleep - though that had never worked before.

"Daddy, wake up!"

"Daddy's sleeping, Maggie."

"Well, then wake up." She drew out the 'e' in 'well', clearly trying to make herself sound more convincing.

He groaned and turned his head, forcing his eyes open to look at his daughter, who was grinning down at him. "What time is it?"

"Mama sent me to get you up."

"That ain't an answer." Jack muttered, but sat up nevertheless, rubbing his eyes in an attempt to wake himself properly. "She need anything, or is mama just trying to annoy me?"

The five year old shrugged. "Dunno. But get up, please Daddy, please?" She started tugging on his arm and he pulled back the blankets and stood.

"Alright, I'm up. Happy now?"

Maggie nodded with a grin. "Can I ride on your shoulders?"

He smiled. "Yeah, why not?" He picked her up and swung her up onto his shoulders.

"Let's run!"

One of Maggie's favorite activities was to sit on Jack's shoulders while he ran with her, whether they were outside or inside. He didn't have a clue why she liked it so much, but it was easy enough to do.

"Okay, just for second though, yeah?"

His daughter had stopped listening after she heard the word 'okay', and was now giggling with excitement. He chuckled.

"Hold on tight."

They took off down the hall, Maggie squealing with joy as they did so, but their early morning excitement was short lived.

"Jack Kelly, are you running around with our daughter inside the apartment?"

Jack stopped in his tracks in the living room in front of his wife, who was sitting in front of her typewriter and raising an eyebrow at them. He quickly picked Maggie up and put her down so that she was standing next to him, and gave Katherine an innocent grin.

"Don't know what you're talking about, Ace. We're being perfectly well behaved, ain't that right Maggie?"

Their daughter, clearly having been trained by Jack to look completely innocent, put an adorable smile on her face and nodded. "Uh huh. Perfect."

Katherine gave them a look that was both exasperated and amused, and she sighed. "You know, I was supposed to only be raising one child, Jack?"

He shrugged. "That's what you signed up for when we got married, not my fault you didn't read the fine print on our marriage license."

She smiled and stood up. "You are so impossible." She said, even as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.

Jack wrapped his arms around her waist in smiled into the kiss. "You love it." He muttered against her lips, and was about to pull her in closer when they heard a giggle coming from behind them.

"Ew!"

He turned to look at the girl, though still keeping an arm around Katherine. "You spying on our private moment, Miss Maggie?"

"If it's private then you shouldn't be having it in front me."

Katherine laughed. "She's smarter than you already."

"Ah, shut  up." He shoved her lightly with his shoulder, and she shoved him right back.

"You know I'm right." Before he could open his mouth to retort, she stopped him. "I'm making pancakes for breakfast."

Maggie gasped as though she'd just been given the best gift of all time. "Can they  be blueberry?"

"Of course they can." Katherine turned to her husband. "Can you make some toast?"

He gave her an over-exaggerated look of surprise. "You trust me with toast?"

"Jack."

"This is such an honor Kath, I dunno what to say. I get to make toast, in the toaster."

Katherine rolled her eyes and steered him in the direction of the kitchen. "Just go, will you?"

"I just can't believe this. Maggie, did you hear that? Mama's trusting me with toast!"

His wife gave him a slight shove as their daughter giggled. "Are you trying to make me regret my decision?"

"Don't worry, I'm gonna make you proud. This'll be the best toast you've ever had."

"I'm sure it will."

Jack paused once more. "Cover your eyes, Maggie." He directed his daughter, who did so, before promptly peeking through her fingers to catch Jack leaning in to kiss Katherine. "Love you."

She kissed him back before pulling away with a grin. "I love you too. Now go make toast."
