AN: I'm currently sick with a sore throat and would love to have a Jack Kelly to take care of me, so this was created. Please enjoy this short fic full off fluff and cliches.

"Hey, Kath." Jack greeted his girlfriend, who was sitting in front of her typewriter, as he entered her apartment. She looked up as he closed the door behind him, and when she saw him, her eyes widened.

"Go away, Jack." She told him in a hoarse whisper, and he looked around, confused, thinking there was someone else there, which would explain the whispering.

"What's going on?" He asked her in a low voice, and she gave him an odd look.

"Why are you whispering?"

He shrugged. "Cause you are."

Katherine rolled her eyes. "I have a sore throat. Now get out." This statement was followed by a few coughs.

"Gee, what a nice, welcoming girlfriend I have." Jack remarked sarcastically.

"I don't know if I'm contagious or not, and I don't want you to catch this. Now get out so I can stop talking."

He frowned. "If you're sick, then why're you working?"

"I have a deadline."

"Which is?"

"Monday."

"Ace! You got all weekend!"

"That's not - " She coughed again, cutting herself off. "That's not that long."

Jack walked over to her abruptly, gently placing his hand on her forehead. She pulled away, but not before he felt what he'd needed to.

"You got a fever."

"I do not."

"Ace, I've been around enough kids with a fever to know what one feels like."

Katherine sighed. "Even if I do have a fever, that's even more reason for you to leave."

"I ain't leaving til you're in bed."

"You're very annoying."

He gave her an over the top grin. "Love you too."

"You know I love you. I just also think you're very annoying."

"I'll take it. Now go get in bed."

She opened her mouth to respond, but he shook his head. "You don't gotta talk anymore, I can tell it hurts. C'mere."

Without warning, Jack picked her up, gently shushing her when she began to protest. As he got a closer look, he noticed her flushed cheeks, which only confirmed in his mind that she needed to rest.

He carried her into the bedroom and set her down on the bed, taking off her shoes for her and folding back the covers, which she immediately crawled under. She suddenly looked exhausted, like all the energy had just been drained out of her.

He waited until she had settled in and seemed comfortable before turning, intending to leave, when he felt her grab his hand. He looked at her.

"Stay?" Katherine whispered, and Jacked nodded, pulling up a chair next to her bed. She smiled and he brought her hand up to his lips, kissing it gently as she began to fall asleep.
