How/When do I tag my story?

Stories must be tagged with #TLAS3entry at time of entry. If you also want to enter it into our polls, then add the tag #INAPOLL and #TLACOVER (if your cover fulfills the requirements stated in the first chapter of course).

Can a story be entered in more than one category?

Unfortunately, we do not allow that because we cannot have a single story winning in more than one category. And because we want to award as many stories as possible.

Can I enter a random book?

No, refer to the rules page for what qualifies as random.

Can my story be a crossover between two or more IE season or an AU?

Yes, we accept crossovers between season and AUs, including Ares and Orion no Kokuin. But do pay attention to the seasons the judges have watched and are willing to accept.

Can I submit my entry to more than one judge?

We recommend one judge per entry, but if you want to submit it to another judge, the amount of entries you are allowed to enter will be reduced to two. On another note, if a judge recommends you to another, then you are allowed to resubmit your entry to the recommended judge.

Does my story have to be completed?

Only if you are entering in Simple is Best. Stories over five chapters can be incomplete.

I don't know which category or judge to enter my story to!

For the categories, before you ask us to read your to-be-submitted entry, ask yourself which is the main genre. All romance must go to Love is in The Air; entries with an OC lead go to I'm Not A Mary Sue; short stories and one-shots go to Simple Is Best; and if it doesn't fit the previous categories then General is your best choice. For choosing a judge, we recommend you familiarize yourself with the judge's writing and tastes before submitting an entry. We ask this to reduce the chance of biased feedback as something about your entry may not be the judge's area of expertise, or suit their tastes.

If you are still at loss, our TLA Assistants, Tieg2001 and Fubuki_SnowWarrior will be happy to help you find an adequate category/judge.

What do you mean by tags?

When we ask you to tag your entry, we do mean to add the hastags to the title or summary of your story-- directly add the tag in the following section of your story.

The tag will be automatically lowercased, so you don't have to add specifically uppercase #TLACOVER or #INAPOLL. We expect all entries at time of submission to have the appropriate hashtag for the contest to proceed smoothly.

Do we have write something entirely new to apply?

No if you don't want to. There aren't any restrictions with the age of your entry. But it has to have more than five chapters if it's not a one-shot or a conpleted short story.
