The Lightning Awards Season 3 [IN SESSION]

Rules

Contests run on frameworks, and TLA has been no different. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, feel free to comment and one of our Assistants will reply.

1. Entries are to be submitted on a separate page with each judge's individual information. These will be posted when the application period opens. There is also be a meager payment for entering depending on the judge. Carefully consider if the judge is fit for your entry, and keep in mind the category(ies) a judge is part of may not be the same as their reading preferences. They reserve the right to recommend your entry to another judge.

2. Three entries per user are the limit, four if they are short - meaning four one-shots, or very short chapters. This will be case by case and the stories must be entered into different categories.

3. Let's be nice and respectful. Love makes the world go round, though the Chief will get mad if you make trouble. If it gets to a point where someone feels obviously threatened or hurt, we may put you on our blacklist which means that you will not be allowed to participate in any of the future The Lighting Awards contests.

4. The general tag is #tlas3entry- this will help us find your entry with ease and add it to our reading lists. This will be the only tag apart from #INAPOLL and #TLACOVER which are optional.

5. Fifteen stories per judge will be accepted, so apply ASAP.

6. Your cover will not affect your score, so don't worry if you have the Wattpad-generated cover, a simple picture, or something with words slapped on through Microsoft Paint. We are here to promote and encourage the art of literature, although visual art does indeed make your book more eye catching. However, if your cover's entry uses fanart, you will not be able to participate in #TLACOVER nor receive the beautiful badge ishadas has designed.

7. You can only enter the first book if it is in a series which prior character knowledge and plot are needed to understand later books unless the judge of your category gives you special permission since they have already read the earlier books of the series. We do not want to burden the judge with reading more than they already have. We will confirm with your judge if you do enter a book in the later chapters of a saga; if they do not confirm then you will be blacklisted for violation of the rules.

8. We will announce the first place per category and a maximum of two special mentions, as long as the score is +75. If none of the entries (per category) reach the minimum score, the two entries with the highest scores will receive a special mention. If a category with a sole entry fulfills the +75 requirement, it will be given a special mention.

9. Entries with an OC lead must be submitted in the I'm Not A Mary Sue category. This is to give an equal chance to other stories that can fall into other categories.

10. Entries are allowed to be submitted to a maximum of two judges. But in that case, the amount of entries a user is allowed to submit is reduced by one. In other words, a user is allowed to submit one entry resubmit another one, receiving three critiques total.

11. Check the rules and forms constantly, we might make some changes throughout the course of the contest.

Entry Guidelines:

a) Your story must have more than 5 chapters published or be completed (by this we mean one-shots, or very short stories under 5 chapters).

b) You need to be committed to the story (we'll know if you aren't; we have our ways).

c) No X reader is allowed.

d) No Random (Inazuma Gallery, Truth or Dare, Asks, Galleries, Lyrics) is allowed.

e) AUs (Alternate Universe) are fine.

f) Entries must be purely Inazuma Eleven/GO/CS/Galaxy/Ares/Orion based works, including crossover between the seasons only. We also accept collaborations between users.

g) Whole one-shots collections are not allowed, only separate stories. Please specify in your entry in the format of "OneShotCollectionName: ChapterName" in the place where title of entry is required.

h) You need to be following this account; it is easier that way for us to tag you and to notify you on news that way. Add the book to your reading list so you don't miss anything.
