Now that we have entered the last days of the application period, we have noticed our new judges haven't received as many entries as others, so we want to give them an opportunity to introduce themselves in a short interview. The Head Chief interviewed Judge Sakuchii (xxsakuchiixx). We hope you enjoy this, and if you are prospective applicant, chose Judge Sakuchii.
Hello, Sakuchii, thank you for accepting being a judge and welcome to Wattpad. I have heard you are one of the oldest writers in the fandom that started in FFN which is amazing. Would you like to introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your journey in the IE fandom?
Hellowa! I’m known as Sakuchii around the net, but recently people have also started calling me Saku, for short. It’s nice to meet you everyone.
In fact, my first Inazuma Eleven fanfiction will turn eight on Jan 28th. “I know that I love you” tells a story about girl who has abandoned soccer and her body is sometimes overtaken by her younger sister who has fallen into coma. Does the story sound familiar? Indeed, the story was originally inspired by the story of Fubuki brothers. I was being super creative back in the days, wasn’t I, haha. But one has to start from somewhere. “I know that I love you” has many flaws. My grammar was very weak back then, I aimed for my OC to shine over Inazuma Eleven characters, the storytelling and flow was weird. I wonder how the story will turn out once I rewrite it?
I was very active on creating and starting new stories at the beginning, but I soon realized I can’t manage all of them at once. So, my update pace slowed down drastically, and I switched to be a heavy planster – I keep writing and updating the story while also planning it at the same time. By that time years had passed, and I returned back to the stories I had previous written. With the experience I had gained while writing, I realized I could give my stories so much more. This is the reason why I’m rewriting many of my already completed stories. “Korishabetto”, as the story goes by now, dates back to 2011 and is the oldest ongoing fanfic I have currently.
I haven’t started any new IE multichapter story since late 2014. Which is much from a writer who published almost 30 stories in 3 years. I’ve also taken some breaks from Inazuma Fandom, mostly when I started writing my Haikyuu! story “Cry of A Fallen Crow.” But in the end, it’s Inazuma that feels like home. I’m glad to be back.
Thirty stories is so impressive! The longest I have written so far is a short story. Now, tell us about the stories you are accepting as a judge for TLA.
I’m a judge for both ”Love is In The Air” and ”I’m Not Mary Sue” categories, with the former one being my main category. So if your story has romance in or and especially if it’s OC x Inazuma Eleven character, don’t hesitate to submit the story to me. I myself write mainly romance, which is why it was easy for me to accept a request to judge for romance category. If you check my stories, I have a strong shoujo-ish vibe to them, something I’ve been trying to lessen if not completely get “rid of” for the past years. And you know, most of the romance’s in my stories haven’t bloomed yet, haha.
Honestly, I’m super excited to read about romance’s in the Inazuma World. Will it be a tearjerker or maybe a story I can have good laugh at? Something that will bring to good mood or maybe something that makes me think about how this world is built and how it works? Will the story have a psychological aspect to it and will the story be “love at first sight” or will the couple fall in love naturally as the story progresses. Will the heroine fall in love with the main guy or will finally second lead have a chance in this battle for girls heart? With romance there is many possibilities and I’m curious to find out what kind of blooming stories our participants can bring to us.
There's certainly a lot of OCxChara romance fics in Wattpad! What made you write romance fics for this fandom? And what have you learned about it?
