When i opened the door a guy who looked 25 and ruff around the edges pulled up his sleeve and showed me his tattoo. Just as Giovanni said, it said Moretti clear as day. Quickly i stepped aside to let him in. He glanced around making sure it was clear before coming inside.

"McKenzie I'm Nick, Giovanni requested that i fill you in on what is to happen next." I nodded my head and observed his features. He was about 6'2" with a broad muscular body and dark features. Nick oozed danger and sex appeal with his dark jeans, dark shirt and leather jacket with riding boots on. The Rolex watch on his wrist screamed loaded. I couldn't deny that he was very good looking.

"If you need anything after todays meeting you will contact me instead of Giovanni." He handed my a piece of paper with his number and a new phone. "That phone is to contact me alone and it can't be tracked. On the back of that paper you will find an address about an hour away from here. You are expected to show up there after i leave, to meet with Giovanni. He will explain more than. When you go into the shop the owner will ask you your name and you will say Moretti. From there he will instruct you. Any questions."

"No." What is so significant about the name Moretti? It's definitely Italian, but it makes me feel like this has something to do with the mafia. For my sake i really hope it doesn't because that means nothing good for anyone.

"I wish we could have met under different circumstances McKenzie." Nick smirked and let himself out. It took me a minute to register that he hit on me. Shaking my head i went into my bedroom to get Cole. Leaving him here wasn't a good idea and taking him with didn't seem much better. I guess the lesser of the two was to take him with.

"Cole we need to go. We are going to meet someone who will have some answers for me."

"Who were you talking to?"

"Someone who was sent to tell me where to go."

"This all seems like a bad idea but i guess it's better than sitting around waiting for something to happen." Cole grabbed his jacket and headed towards the door. We took my truck and i put the address into my phone. After almost an hour of driving we pulled up to an outdated diner. For a Sunday the business was oddly slow.

"Cole let me do all the talking alright?" I gave him a serious look and he nodded. The whole ride was silent but I'm sure he had a million things going through his mind like me.

We walked inside with Cole behind me. I kept my expression void of emotion as i stood at the 'wait to be seated' sign. A older man about 5'9" walked out of the kitchen. He looked like an old mafia member especially with all his gold rings and the gold chain that hung around his neck. What caught my attention was the name Moretti tattooed across his slightly exposed chest. When he finally noticed us his eyes went wide when they landed on me but he quickly covered it with a smile.

"Just the two of you eating tonight?" He had a thick Italian accent just like Giovanni. He gave Cole a once over with a disapproving glare. Glancing at Cole i didn't see anything wrong with how he looked other than the dark circles under his eyes.

"Table for Moretti." Immediately the mans expression changed to one of serious business.

"Only one person was expected." Once again he sneered at Cole. If he keeps it up we are going to have a problem.

"Well now it's two. Suggest you let him know." Cole coming with is not optional. If it's a problem i will take things into my own hands to get answers and keep us safe.

"He won't be pleased." His glare never wavered as he kept an eye on Cole.

"I'm not pleased with the way your looking at Cole, but there's nothing either of us can do about it is there?" My tone was harsh. After everything that has happened today i am more than happy to put someone in their place even if it gets violent.
