Yuzu got to her classroom and sat down, only just noticing her being alone, she sighed and looked at the clock.

"20 minutes until people start showing up... I guess I'll study, maybe that'll help keep my mind off of things" she knew no one was there to speak too, but Yuzu found herself doing it anyway as it distracted her.

*25 minutes later*

The sounds of shuffling feet invaded her ears and Yuzu looked up, shocked to see the time went by so quickly.

"Guess it's almost time," she stated taking a deep breath to prepare her for the inevitable awkwardness and crushing depression of seeing her now ex. Putting her books away she stared forward at the front just as people were pouring their way through the door of the class.

No one seemed to notice her change in outfit as they came in and she remained silent. "Come on, come on" she repeated to herself willing the day to just end or a fire drill to happen. Something. ANYTHING!

"YUZU-CHAN!!!" She heard from the doorway making people in their class turn around, "damn it", Her best-friend Harumi looked at her with a concerned and slightly annoyed expression, marching over to her best friend, Harumi didn't take in how Yuzu looked until she was sitting in her desk in front of her and turned.

"Yuzu-chan you better explain just why I had to walk to class alone and it better be good cause if not, I'm gunna have to flick your he-" she stopped after seeing her friends face, unsure of what to do.

"Yuzu-chan?..A-are you okay?" She stammered as Harumi took in her best friends face at full, no make up, her eyes were puffy like she had been crying all night, and her usually bright and cheerful eyes looked dead. "Yuzu-chan.. what happened? Why do you look like this?" She noticed her school standard uniform, a slight gasp came from her lips. "Oh my.. Yuzu-chan, tell your Harumi, what's got you down?"

She knew what she needed to say but couldn't find the words, Yuzu watched her friend agonizing over her appearance and finally could only manage a small and broken, " Gone... S-Sh-she's g-gone!" Choking back the sobs that almost escaped her throat, her friend understood and just placed a hand on Yuzu's to hold, turning around just as class grew quieter as the last person entered.

Shooting an icy glare towards the door just as the Student council president walked in, her eyes searching for something, only to stop dead at Harumi's. They locked glances for a moment, before Harumi's hazel eyes seemed to squint maliciously at her before returning to her best friend, and Mei took a second to breathe, a visible shaker breath to steady herself, before her violet eyes slowly moved to the left and finally found the person she's been looking for. Only it wasn't...

*Mei *

Mei walked slowly to class, a small smirk on her face at the thought of seeing her. She opened the door and began looking, only to meet a pair of hazel eyes that looked like they could kill. She locked gazes with her ex's best friend before she squinted at the president and returned her attention to the person behind her, knowing she tried sending a message to Mei, she took a rugged breath and calmed the butterflies in her stomach.

The figure that sat there didn't much look like the Yuzuchi she knew. The one she knew was annoyingly upbeat at times, loud, nosey, and just downright pushy! But she fell for it all, every little quirk she had, and it melted her Icy heart and allowed Mei to feel love for the first terrifying time. Allowed her to feel needed. Mei missed her since the second she left.

She hoped to see her at least from afar at school, with her same smile and laugh, and however unlikely, the same loving emerald eyes she would search a crowd for, and at the very least the usual outfit. But she looked, only to have her heart shatter at the sight she saw, "Yuzu" Mei thought to herself as she saw the girl from this morning, her presence small. Almost invisible behind her friends protective position, hand on her friends. The brunette with hazel eyes was once again looking at her. Almost as if to say " what did you do?"

If Mei was to be honest, and she wasn't intentionally looking for Yuzu, she wouldn't have seen her, her step-sister looked different. Defeated, I almost like everyone else, "what's happening here" Mei thought as she came to rest on the green eyes that she'd come to crave, that deep emerald full of life set of eyes that she spent hours looking into and loving. But something was different.

The colour changed, is that possible? No, no they're still the same colour, "what is it" Mei racked her brain for a minute, before it clicked. Yuzu's eyes looked dead! Like she had no purpose! "Is this my fault? No.. no no.. Yuzu please! Don't look at me that way! I-I love.. I LOVE YOU!" Mei screamed in her head feeling her whole body drained, like all of the energy got sucked out of her. She managed to shuffle to her seat and class began, feeling an all to familiar burn in her throat as she held her tears. Mei couldn't focus though she had Yuzu's dead eyes burned into her brain..

"What have I done" Mei scolded herself. She tried focusing more in class but felt relief wash over her as the bell rang.

Risking one quick glance at the blond, she felt her lip slightly quiver at the sight. Her hair wasn't even the same..

She shook her head and left the room. Feeling the empty sense of internal dread. "Crap" she sighed.
