A Knife In Time

So I haven't posted for a while, I'm on nights at work so I've been sleeping when I'm not working but here is it, the long awaited next chapter, and I'm sorry I know it'll be shorter then usual, 

*Yuzu*

It had only been an hour since Yuzu left for home, Mei had to stay overnight for observation in the hospital, she would be released as long as no complications arose and thankfully it was still Saturday so she probably didn't have to miss any school. Arriving home Yuzu called out, "mama! I'm home!" Walking into the kitchen Yuzu saw a note left by her mother that read, "Yuzu, I have gone to the police station to file a report, call me when you get home as you will need to name Meis attacker. I'm so proud of you for your actions. Love you kiddo, mom<3." Picking up her pone she called her mom.

"Hello mama I just got home. Do you need me to come down there now?"

"Actually Yuzu they said they would come pick you up, after the events of today I think I'd rather you didn't walk just in case. They said their officer will be there in 5 minutes."

"Okay mama, I'll wait outside. See you soon! I love you!"

"I love you too my baby,"

Yuzu hung up the phone, put her shoes back on and went outside to wait. Before the officer showed up to escort her to the station she thought back to what Mei had said, then the meaning hit her. "Ohh.. well, that's doable." Yuzu remained smiling thinking about Mei until the officer showed up.

*at the station*

Walking in the doors with the officer behind her felt like she was in trouble, she wanted to find her mom and get this over with. "Yuzu! Over here!" Yuzu turned towards the voice, seeing her mom she walked calmly towards her, "hey mama, where do we get this done and over with?" Ume looked at her daughter with sad eyes, "I know this will be hard but they have a line up of people who look like the attacker and they need you to name them... it shouldn't be too long baby girl." Yuzu took a deep breath, letting it out she said "okay let's do this," they walked to the back of the station where the two way mirror was with a small table in a small room with the familiar face of her club captain who was sitting talking to an officer.

"So baby," Ume spoke, " all you have to do is nod.. is that her?" Yuzu looked into the room for a minute and spoke, " Yes that's her but... is there any way I could hear what they're saying? I'd like to know if that's possible." She looked to her mom who then looked at their accompanying officer, " excuse me officer.." she looked at his name tag, "Yomoto, is it possible for us to listen for a little?" He just smiled at them and replied with, " well ma'am I don't see why not, and please call me Kenji," he walked over to the wall and pressed the audio button and suddenly the conversation being had within the small room was being played through the speakers on the wall.

"Now miss Takura, I'm going to ask this once more just to be sure I have your answer correct.. The student council president at your school, Is miss Aihara is that correct?" Natsume said "yes," with a neutral tone in her voice that for some reason made Yuzu shudder. "And you were in the student council room with miss Aihara, correct?" "Yes." The officer scribbled something on his paper, "why were you in the room with her?" He asked watching her face intently. "Oh I just wanted to talk with her about some personal matters and such." He scribbled something again, "and what was it you wanted to discuss, Miss takura?" She didn't speak for a second, then said, "just some stuff about my club and the activities we have coming up for it, I wanted to see f we could get a little extra funding if we won our next game. It's the final game before the nation wide championships and I believe we will make it, my team is very good you see and I wanted to treat them for all their hard work and dedication." She smiled sweetly. The officer scribbled some more.

"Okay, now can you tell us what happened when you were in the room? How did miss Aihara get injured?" Yuzu saw Natsume's lips move slightly at the corner, "did you see that? The corner of her lip moved like she was smirking." Then came her answer, "oh I am glad you asked. You see we got onto the topic of one of my club members and she just kind of.. lost it, she took out what looked like a sharpened letter opener or something when I was standing near her and she tried to attack me! I managed to dodge it and smack her hand away but I guess I used to much force and she ended up cutting her arm. I think she's squeamish at the sight of blood cause she fainted and hit her head, The next thing I knew her sister comes in and throws me to the ground. I think I sprained my shoulder, it kinda hurts. Then to top that endeavour off, I'm stuck down here for hours when I should be home making dinner for my family.. I honestly don't know why I'm here officer, I'm innocent!"

Yuzu lost control, "THATS BULLSHIT SHE HAD A POCKET KNOFE AND CUT MEIS ARM! THE PSYCHOPATH TRIED TO KILL HER CAUSE I DIDNT RETURN HER FEELING! " a hand touched her arm and when she turned she saw t was the officer Kenji, "are you sure you saw her with a knife? Cause that sounded pretty convincing." He motioned his head in the direction of Natsume, "we didn't find a knife on her when we brought her in, if you can find it we will hold her and get her tested for psychosis, she could be in a psychotic state which would explain why she seems to be telling the truth. I'll have one of my coworkers drive you there and help you look for it, I can stall them for a half hour but after that we have to let her go, as we have no evidence yet." Determination washed over Yuzu, "I'll find it she had to have thrown it under something, let's go!" And she took off for the front with Kenji. "This bitch is going down for hurting my girl," Yuzu thought. And she was off with a time limit weighing on her shoulders.
