Friends, Food, Family, and Love

So I don't know how much I'll be able to do writing wise the next two days so... here is another chapter for you lovelies! 

*Matsuri*

The group had decided upon omurice for dinner, and everyone helped make their food. They sat down for dinner and had a peaceful conversation, Matsuri spent the majority of her time watching Yuzu, when she wasn't speaking to someone else her eyes were on her. Sadness still crept behind her guarded expression, her emerald eyes couldn't keep everything hidden.

"Say Yuzu, would you want to join a club with me?" Matsuri asked startling the blond, "I was thinking about basketball, but I don't know anyone there.. I figured it could be fun if we did it together."

Yuzu finished chewing her mouthful of food and calculated her answer.

Then finally, " I don't know Matsuri, I don't know if-" Ume cut her off.

"Actually Yuzu, I was thinking it would be good for you to join a club activity, you've been cooped up for a while now and some activity in your life would be good for you!"

"Well... alright, I haven't played in a while but I think I can still manage to play."

"Excellent, now I'll do dishes if you want to get the movie ready, Yuzu? Care to help?" Harumi said.

"Let's do it!" Said Yuzu giving her friends and mother the first really sincere smile in a long time. They all just stared at her in awe, then smiles slowly broke out on all of their faces.

The dishes on and the movie playing the four sat in comfortable silence, occasionally laughing at a scene in the movie. The night drew to a close and after they all showered, the three teens went to bed.

*Ume*

Having said goodnight to the girls now fast asleep in her daughters room, Ume picked up her phone and went to her room. She unlocked her phone and checking to make sure it wasn't too late where he was, dialled her husband.

Ring

Ring

Ri- "Hello my love, what's up?"

Taking a deep breath, Ume said, "Hello darling, how are you? I just called to see how you're doing."

He must have heard something because the next words he said were, "Ume dear? What's wrong?"

"I over heard something Yuzu and her friends were talking about, and I want to talk to you about it. Understand it's not something I ever thought Id hear, but I love my daughter, very much, and I want her happiness, and I love yours too, Mei is a sweet girl. But I need you to promise to keep an open mind about things, and understand I will do anything to see them happy.. okay?"

Shō took a second, "Okay dear, just tell me what's up, what did you hear?"

"I went to Yuzu's room and was intending on asking if her friend would join us for dinner and I hear them talking about Yuzu and her loving a girl."

"That's all? I don't care about the gender of person our kids date Ume, as long as they are happy!"

"I'm not quite done Shō.. see after they said that they were talking about how Yuzu should talk to them and give them another chance, and how they loved her too and the next thing I knew," Ume paused unsure if she should be saying anything.

"What happened?" Shō inquired, "well.. we were brought up, and Mei.. and from how it sounded... Shō I'm pretty sure our daughters are in love with each other.. and they seemed so happy up until Mei left to go live with your father again. Especially after her telling me about his arranging an engagement for her with some guy, and the weddi-"

Shō raised his voice when he cut her off, " STOP, He's going what? Doesn't he know she likes girls?"

They both sighed, but it was Shō who spoke, " Ume you know I love you, and I love Yuzu, but I can't let that happen to my daughter.. she needs to be happy and I think I understand what you meant when you said you'd do anything to make it happen.. which is why we need to divorce."

Ume stiffened, "What about Mei? She's engaged.. and the school.."

"I'll take care of it.. I'm coming home this week. I need to have a talk with my dad."

After their call, Ume went to bed, she was slightly sad that her marriage was ending, but happy about what her daughter found.. " it's not like she won't be my daughter again" Ume thought. She fell asleep and had dreams about her daughters futures and smiled.
