Mei's Confession

*Himeko*

"Himeko? It's Mei, I need to talk about something..."

Himeko was happy her friend wanted to trust in her, and confide in her, but she was concerned, usually things like this could wait until the next day at school.

"So.. um.. Mei-Mei? What's up..?"

She asked her friend, not letting on that she noticed that since she moved away from her step-sister, she wasn't her Mei-Mei. "You can tell me anything okay? I mean ANYTHING!" Adding emphasis on the last anything, not giving away she knew her and her step-sister, were not only sisters, but lovers, and she had assumed her friend was upset about having to move out. It was hard at first but Himeko accepted it slowly, cause she only wanted her best friend to be happy, and Yuzuchi provided her with that.

Mei was silent, so Himeko spoke again.. "Listen, if this is about Yuzuchi, I already know, and if I'm honest? You're a damn fool to let your true happiness and the person who provides it to get away. So listen to me Mei! Go and get her! She and I and everyone else will be there to support you with your grandfather if you want to tell him.. or rather when."

She waited to hear anything from Mei, but the line was silent, so she continued, "Look, she loves you right? And I know you love her, why else would you be so lax with the rules with her" a small giggle game from Himeko before she continues, " I know you love her too, I saw you look at her in class today, and how sad you were she wasn't like the old Yuzu, so I need to say, I do love you, but not like her."

A huge sigh came from both Mei and Himeko. She started tearing up slightly at the thought of letting her go but could tell she needed someone who wasn't her..

" Look Mei, She can love you and make you happier than I ever could. So I need you to think about what you're actually wanting cause from what I see? You shouldn't be marrying anyone but her. You need her in your life as much as she needs you, you've changed Mei-Mei! You aren't the same docile student council president from before she came here.. and if I'm being 100% honest... I miss the old Yuzu! I had to see her mope around all day walking like she was a living corpse.. you and her both! I can't stand that.. I mean, Mei, you couldn't even finish your simple paper work today!"

Mei was shocked by this and said, "I'm sorry I made you do that Himeko, I should have finished my work." A soft sob escaped Mei's throat. "Mei Aihara! Listen to me, and listen to me well. I will only say this once! You hear me?" She took Mei's whimper of agreement as her understanding, and continues, "You need to break off the engagement, you can't just drop your true love, and start over with someone else, you should.." Himeko sobbed, partly in sadness for her friend, and partly because she was telling the perso she loved to go after someone else." You should tell her how you feel... In Person this time.. and before you ask.. yes I know about the letter you left... matsuri and Harumi were blabbing about it, so I expected this call. So what do you have to say for yourself Mei_Mei? "

Mei was silent for a few moments, before she took a deep breath and said, "I- Himeko, I love her.. so much.. I can't.. I can't do this.."

"Finally," Himeko said, " you admit what your closest friends have been seeing for months.. don't worry Mei-Mei, I will be here for you, I'll help."
