Mei let out an exasperated sigh as she has once again failed to be able to focus on her work, for the fifth time since school ended. Taking a breath she went to try for the sixth time, only to be disturbed by Himeko Momokino.

"Hello Mei-Mei!!"

"Hey" greeted Mei to her best friend and the VP of student council.

"Is something wrong prez?" She asked, furrowing her large eyebrows.

Noting the concern on her friends face, Mei put on her fake smile, " No, I'm just tired, we've been working hard recently and I think it's just catching up to me."

Himeko scrutinized her friend for a moment before deciding to let it go, "okay Mei-Mei" she said, "I'm here if you need to talk, okay?"

"I know, and I will when I need too, don't worry." She seemed to accept that answer cause she didn't push the issue further.

Himeko thought for a second, " Hey Mei-Mei?" Asked Himeko, "Why don't I finish things up today? You go get some rest, don't worry I can handle it." She smiled reassuring at the president.

"Mm... yeah okay Himeko, I'll take my leave for today.." Mei paused on her way out the door, and turned, "Oh and Himeko? Thanks." That earned her a huge smile from her friend. "Anytime Mei-Mei! See you tomorrow!!" Mei chuckled, " Yeah, see you."

Mei started her walk to her families house. She knew the way without even having to look, so she got lost in thought along the way, only coming back to reality when she reached her grandfathers house with no recollection of leaving school..

*Mei opens the door*

"Grandfather? I'm back from school, where are you?"

"He is in his study Miss Aihara, shall I announce your arrival?" Her grandfathers maid asked, giving a slight smile to the young Aihara. "Yes please if you don't mind, thank you."

The maid bows and takes her leave to announce Mei's arrival, and after only a few minutes she hears the slow steps of her sick grandfather. Mei sighs glad he is still well enough to walk, but she never expected to see him with a walker, that sight threw her for a little loop.

"Granddaughter, I hope you are well. I see you came home at a decent time, did you finish the work you had so quickly?"

"No, I had a little left but the Vice President requested I let her deal with it, so I thought I could join you for dinner?"

Her grandfather chuckled to himself, " what a perfect day for this to happen, as it just so happens, we have guests for dinner tonight and I was afraid I'd have to call you away from your responsibilities tonight, I'm glad you had your friend finish up what you left!"

*Mei shuddered*

"Guests? Whom are we to be expecting tonight?" She asked the elder Aihara.

Her grandfather just smirked and said, " why your future husband and their father of course! I have found the perfect match for you!" He noticed how Mei was silent, " Don't worry, I made especially sure he isn't like the last one.

*Mei has a flashback to her ex-fiancé , shuddering at the memories of him forcing her to kiss him*

"Mei? Are you oka.." asked the elder Aihara

"yes grandfather, I'm okay" shaking off the feeling of disgust she headed towards the living room, " shall we sit for dinner?"

"Of course my child, let us go and rest while we await our guests."

Mei feared the worst but knew one way to de-stress herself.. " grandfather? Could I use your office phone for a minute? I need to check up on some things.. for the school council, I'll call her in the morning if possible, I feel it's too late to call now.." She lied.

"Yes yes, make it brief though, I have a conference call tomorrow morning as well."

*next morning after the dinner*

Mei headed toward her grandfathers study, dialling her only friend at the moment. After two rings of the telephone the person she needed to talk too answered, "hello? This is the Momokino residence, Himeko speaking."

Sighing in relief, Mei answered, "Himeko? It's Mei, I need to talk aboutsomething..."
