*Mei*

Listening to Yuzu tell her all of the stuff she went through hurt her heart, "maybe she's better with me just as a sister." Mei thought, deciding to be just that, "I can't chase after her knowing I caused that amount of pain." Mei got up and started getting ready for school, closing off her heart to all emotion once again. She and Yuzu left for school and walked in silence, parting ways at the gate. "See ya later Mei!" Yuzu said as she left her sister, Mei headed towards the student council office, closing and locking the door behind her Mei slid to the floor and wept. "Yuzu" She said out loud to no one. "Why is this so hard?" She asked herself. After school they walked home together as Yuzu would stay later practicing for her up and coming basketball game.

Weeks passed like this, Mei had moved back into her and yuzus room.

She would only hold small talk with Yuzu, and she hasn't asked to cuddle again. This went on without a change in routine until finally Yuzu asked, "Mei are you okay? Like.. you barely spoke to me the past few weeks.. I know I said I needed some time but it's like you're not even interested in trying to be with me anymore. Ever since that first night you've just.. been not here."

"I don't know Yuzu.. I think I've caused you enough pain so.. I guess I've resolved to not do that to you again.." Mei got up and left the room before Yuzu could see the tears flapping from her eyes.

*yuzu*

Mei got up and left the room, "I guess she has given up on us.." Yuzu thought. Wiping at her eyes she got ready for school. When Yuzu showed up she was met by Matsuri, Harumi and her club captain Natsume Takura. Who was a tall chestnut haired girl with eyes so light blue you could almost see the ocean in them. She was a slender and fit girl, and was in the grade above Yuzu so she was in her final year of high school.

"Good morning yuzuchi! Are you ready for the big game today?"

Yuzu looked up, "huh? What game?"

"Oh my darling Yuzu, you forgot? Our clubs game is today. I look forward to seeing your moves." Said Natsume, looking at Yuzu with a flirtatious grin.

Yuzu has noticed that since she joined the basketball club that Natsume has been flirtatious with her, but she didn't really pay it any attention cause she thought Mei had finally wanted to be with her, especially since their parents are now divorced. "Maybe I should try to move on.." Yuzu thought. Turning to the captain, Yuzu have her a smile, "well captain, I do have some moves you've probably not seen before." Harumi and Matsuri exchanged glances, both of them thinking, "what the hell?"

" Hey Yuzu we gotta get to class!" Harumi said dragging the blond with her. "Catch you later" she yelled back to the captain and Matsuri.

"Yuzu that the hell? I thought you wanted Mei? We went through all that work to help you get her back and now you're just not interested?" Harumi scolded Yuzu.

"That's not it Harumi.. she kinda rejected me again this morning.. so thought maybe I should move on.. she told me she didn't want me to hurt again cause of her.. I guess she was thinking about what I told her life was like after she left.."

"Ahh hell," Said Harumi and made a mental note to talk to the president again. Walking into their classroom they took their seats waiting for their teacher.

*Mei*

She got to the school and started her rounds. She headed to the front gate to do her morning job and jumped back when she rounded the corner and saw Yuzu with her friends and the basketball captain. Mei stayed within eat shot of the conversation but out of sight.

Good morning yuzuchi! Are you ready for the big game today?"

She saw Yuzu look up, "huh? What game?"

"Oh my darling Yuzu, you forgot? Our clubs game is today. I look forward to seeing your moves." Mei heard the captain, Natsume. Mei noticed she was looking at Yuzu with a flirtatious grin. "Son of a bitch." Thought Mei. Then she heard Yuzu, "well captain, I do have some moves you've probably not seen before."

"No! Crap crap crap!" Mei said out loud and turned around only to run into Himeko, " Good morning Mei-Mei!"

Mei just looked at her with a sad expression and walked away.

*Himeko*

"What was that about?" Himeko thought. She walked over to Matsuri who was with the basketball captain.

"Matsuri may I have a word? Himeko asked

"Yeah sure" replied Matsuri, "excuse my captain, I am needed by the VP. I'll see you at the game later."

"Matsuri do you know if something happened between Mei and Yuzu? I just saw Mei and she looked sad again. Come to think of it, she has since after her first night staying with her dad and mom again."

"Ahh so that explains it.. I did see the president lurking around the corner... well in that case, I can only assume that she overheard Yuzu flirting with our captain. Harumi pulled her away before much was said.. do you think they fought?"

"I don't know but I'll ask Harumi in class.. talk later Matsuri" and she headed off to class.

*after class ended*

Himeko walked up to Harumi. "May I have a word?"

Harumi followed the VP, "what's up?"

Turning aground Himeko Asked "do you know if anything happened between Mei and Yuzu? Why was she flirting with her captain?"

"Well Yuzu said Mei rejected her again this morning.. so she thought she should just move on. She said Mei has been acting weird the past few weeks. What did mei say to you?"

"Nothing.. yet." And Himeko walked off to the student council room.

Knocking on the door, "Mei-Mei? I know you're there. Open up and talk to me." Himeko heard a soft click as the door unlocked. She turned the door knob and walked into the room, making sure to close it behind her. "Mei-Mei, what's wrong? Why did you reject Yuzu again?"

"Because I don't want to hurt her anymore. I've been lying for weeks that I can live with just being close as friends, but seeing that this morning.. I can't lie to myself anymore.. I love her Himeko, I got so jealous." Mei stated sadly.

"well you're not only hurting her, but you're hurting yourself. You both love each other, so maybe think about talking about how you feel and go to her game tonight. Okay?"

After a pause Mei said "yeah okay."
