This building was huge so I was glad that we finished the tour after 20 min and headed back to Jus office. He seemed really kind but that clashed with him being the director of this department. Leaders are usually fierce, strict and idealists but he was calm and peaceful. We entered his cube and he asked me to take a seat again.
" So as an intern you will be running around with me. Usually the intern are assigned to the general managers of the group but since a pretty and smart lady like you came along I decided that your skills are needed at the top floor and not anywhere else. Also you had the most remarkable CV ever so I will teach you myself. This will be no joke and hard work for you. When I get into work mode I am totally different", he said now more seriously.
I nodded and he placed a key on my table and stood up.
" Come on follow me. I will show you your office space that you will share with two other managers. They are your seniors but agreed to share the office with you", he said as I followed him out of the office and along the hallways. We stopped infront of the last office to the right and he let me in. It was a small cube witha very sterile feel to it. There were three tables aligned in a U-shape and he indicated to me that the centre place would be mine.
" There is a first steps manual on your table on how to set up your Mail account and other important things. I have send you our schedule in your E-Mail and some tasks. We will have back to back meetings tomorrow with each general manager of the groups and PD-nim. Please prepare for the meetings. You can decided on where you want to prepare. The card gives you 24/7 access and which files you access will be tracked by us as safetly. If there is a leak of information all the computers and staff members will be checked otherwise we will not have a look at it. I will see you tomorrow", Ju said and walked out.
I bowed as he left and made my way to my space. I sank down on the chair and exhaled.
" This will be fun", I said to myself and sat up straight and started working. At home my internet access was not good at all so I decided to stay here and work. Within minutes I set up all my work accounts and started by accessing the schedule he send me. I plugged in some earphones and listened to music as I started to go through the material for the meetings. Hours passed and I was immersed into my work and snapped out as someone entered the office space. I blinked a few times and realised that Uka paid me a visit. I removed my earphones and looked at him.
" And how is work Noona?", he asked me as he came closer.
" Well I already got a pile up work but it is interesting", I admitted with a smile.
"I know right. I also started to learn what music equipment they use. It is different to the ones that I used. But it is really late and I am heading home. I knew that you would be still here. It is 2 am. Come on I hailed a cab. We should go home and sleep", Uka said to me handing me my coat.
I looked at the monitor clock and realised that it was really 2 am and my first meeting would start at 8am. Shutting down the computer I grabbed the files that I prepared for tomorrow and followed Uka out after locking the door.
" I knew that you would love this", he said beaming at me as we got inside the cab that he hailed for us.
I glared at him and rested my eyes.
" Well this is just the start. Things can change easily", I said to him seriously and turned around to look out of the window.
I was done with the meeting preparations within 1 hr so I used the remaining time to understand how the lable is run. It took me some time to understand why there were now subunits for each group within the administration. The system was in its kids shoes and there were ways to improve the system. As I predicted the well-being of the artist and security measument were no priorities. It made me think that even such a big lable still lacked and that they needed someone to stand up for their artists and trainees.
