CHAPTER 4

TIME SKIPPED TO LUNCH...

ASHLEY'S POV
Me and the girls were sitting on our usual table, waiting for the boys, when we saw Leah and her friends coming towards our table."Hey girls, can we sit with you guys today, that is if you don't mind" Mia said. I turned to look at my friends, confused. None of us spoke for a while, thinking the same thing. Why all of a sudden? It wasn't like we didn't like them or anything, we were confused because they never sat anywhere else apart from their 'popular table'.All of them were standing at the foot of our table, their food tray in their hands, waiting for our answer. I was about to decline when Rose spoke up. "yeah sure" she said not wanting to sound rude to our new friends. I sighed as all of them sat down. All of us started eating our lunch, Leah and her friends starting a conversation about some  random stuff when I saw Scott and others entering the cafeteria. "guys!" I shouted, waving my hand in their direction. They looked at me and started making their way towards us. Everyone turned to look where I was waving and the moment Lea and her friends saw them, a big smile made its way to their faces and let me tell you, it was far from a friendly smile. I just shook my head, trying not to focus on these silly  things. The boys reached our table and took a seat. "hey girls" Zayn said looking at all of us as they sat with us. Before any one of us could reply back..."Hi!!" Diana shouted a little too excitedly, flattering her eyelashes towards Zayn. Zoey was literally trying not to glare at her and instead turned her head to look down at her food, trying her hardest not to cause a scene. "so how were your classes" I said trying to ease the tension. "eh..they were ok" Mason said shrugging. I nodded and all of us started eating again. Suddenly Tyler placed her spoon down on his tray and started looking around the cafeteria, as if making sure nobody was eavesdropping on our conversations. Then he turned to look at Leah, "are you guys werewolves too" he asked in a low voice. The moment he was finished, Leah and her friends grew stiff in their places and their faces paled. Me and the girls had also stopped eating and were looking at Tyler with wide eyes. Well that was quite straightforward!. Leah and her friends got up from where they were seated and  were about to leave when Tyler stopped them. "Hey hey! It's ok. I was just confirming. Me and my friends caught the scent of a werewolf on you and your friends when you guys came up to us in the morning" he said. Listening to this they immediately sat back down, all of them breathing in a sigh of relief. "so are you guys..." Mia asked with eyebrows slightly raised and Tyler nodded. "well except for me and my friends, we're humans" Zoey said gesturing to herself and us. They nodded and everyone resumed eating. "you know I really missed you, even though we were separated only for an hour" I heard Zoey whisper to Zayn, trying to make sure nobody heard her. Too bad!. I couldn't help but smile at this. Both of them are so much alike, they aren't a big fan of cheesy romantic dialogues, but when they are together, they can be the most cheesy couple ever known. "I missed you too" I heard Zayn whisper as he pecked her on the cheek. Then suddenly I heard a strange sound...like something colliding with a hard substance. I looked up to see Diana literally trying to make a hole in the table with her spoon. Her knuckles were white by how hard she was digging the spoon in the table. She was throwing death glares to Zoey. If looks could kill, Diana would've finished Zoey right here. My eyebrows furrowed in both confusion and irritation. What's the deal with  them?. "are you all mates?" Diana asked sounding dead calm. Scarily calm. Listening to her question Tyler smiled the biggest and the brightest smile, looking at Crystal. "yes we are" he said not removing his eyes from her face and then he kissed her cheek. I smiled at them and when I turned to look at Lea and her friends, they looked like they were on fire. All of a sudden, all of them got up from their seating spots, their food tray in their hands. "We'll see you guys tomorrow" Leah said. Her voice lacked the enthusiasm and sweetness that it had when they came to our table moments before. All of them started making their way towards the exit, throwing their food trays in the dustbin near the exit door. "what was that about?" Crystal asked eyeing the exit door. I shrugged my shoulders. I was equally confused. "Maybe they weren't hungry anymore or maybe they had to go somewhere. We should let them be" Scott said and all of us nodded. All of us resumed eating, my eyes shifting to the exit door every few minutes. I couldn't get the incident out of my head. All of us chatted for a while and soon the break was over. All of us made our way to the exit, throwing our empty trays in the dustbin, making out way to our next lesson.

AFTER COLLEGE...
The day had passed by in a blur and soon I found myself standing in the college parking lot with my friends. We hadn't seen Lea and others since lunch and honestly I was quite happy with that. Their behavior was kinda weird. Anyways all I want right now is to go back home and rest after a hard working day.
