THE POWER OF TRUE LOVE

CHAPTER 30

JACOB'S POV
"we need a flashlight or flashlights" I said inspecting the darkness of the tunnel. There was no way we could just randomly move in that tunnel. " I saw some flashlights in the room where I found the metal box" Crystal said. "I'll go get them" She said moving towards the lower level of the mansion where the room was. "wait I'll come with you" Sarah said and with that both of them ran towards the staircase which led to the lower level and disappeared out of sights.

It had been a few minutes since they both had gone and all of us were waiting for them to return. A deep silence had surrounded the whole mansion and for the first time in a long while, silence had brought peace for all of us. I looked up at Zoey, Rose and Ashley to see that they were almost on the verge of tears, though this time it was because of happiness and not fear. A small smile came up on my face as I looked at them. They can finally be with the ones they love. But as this thought came to my mind, it was accompanied by a picture, a picture that made my smile disappear. Tears threatened to come out of my eyes as a picture of Allison came to my mind. My Allison. Even though she was no more with me I could always feel her warmth around me. I know that she is with me right now and I am sure she is happy for Crys and her friends too. Even though me and my friends lost our mates, we won't let Crys and her friends go through the same pain. I blinked my tears away and tried to distract my mind when we heard footsteps coming towards us. I looked up to see Zoey and Crys coming towards us with flashlights in their hands.

"we could only find 5" Zoey said as she handed one of them to me. "It's better than nothing. Besides we don't need these, our werewolf eye sight helps us to see around clearly, no matter how dark it is" I said and she nodded. "Come on guys we should start moving" Lucas said. Each of the girls had a flashlight with them. They switched on their flashlights and all of us entered the dark tunnel. The moment all of us were inside we heard a rumble behind us. All of turned around to see the statue returning back to it's original place and the wall was starting to close. All of us stood frozen in our spots as the mansion disappeared in front of us. As the last speck of light from the mansion faded away, I heard Crystal breathe in a sigh of relief. Even though it was almost inaudible but I heard it clearly. All of us turned around and started walking deeper into the tunnel. The flashlights illuminated only a small part of our surroundings but we kept walking.

We have to succeed!

ZAYN'S POV
I was sitting on the ground, watching the night sky from inside the cave. Me and the boys had stumbled across at this cave when we were searching this Island and we decided it was a good place to rest. The moon was shining bright in the dark sky and a peaceful silence was surrounding me. The boys had went for a stroll, they had asked me to join them but I just wanted to be alone for a while.
My surroundings could be the most peaceful surrounding any living creature could ask for but still my insides were anything but peaceful. All I could think about was Zoey. My eyes were staring at the beautiful moon but my mind could only see her beautiful face. My mind was scattered. Was she and the girls ok? What if we are too late to reach them? As all these thoughts were racing through my mind I failed to notice the wall on which was resting had started to shake a little. Before I could register what was happening, I felt my body fall backwards and I lost my balance. But before I could hit the ground, I jerked my body forward and regained my balance. "what just happened?" I murmured to myself as I turned around to inspect. The thing I saw made my jaw touch the floor. The rocky wall on which I was resting my head and back just a few seconds ago was now an entrance to what looked like a cave. I slowly stood up, staring at the open entrance dumbfounded. It took me a few seconds to understand the fact that we may have found a way to get back to the girls. I was hesitant to think that this was the case because this cave could lead us anywhere, but still, this thought brought me peace like nothing else. I decided it was worth the shot! I immediately mind linked the guys

Guys!

Yes zayn is everything ok? I heard Scott say.

Come back to the cave right now!

What's the matter Zee is everything ok? It was Tyler.

Just come back. As soon as possible!

Ok ok we're on our way. Scott said and I broke the link.

SCOTT'S POV
Me, Tyler, Noah and Mason reached the cave and saw Zayn standing there with the biggest smile that we had seen on him. "what happened dude" I asked him once we reached him. "you guys are not gonna believe what I found out" he said, excitement clear in his voice. "what?" Mason asked curiously. Without saying another word, Zayn ran back inside the cave and we followed him. The moment I laid my eyes on the entrance of the tunnel my breath was caught in my throat. "is this.." I whispered, not being able to complete my sentence. My mind was totally numb. "yes! It's a tunnel!" Zayn shouted in happiness. "oh my god finally!" I heard Noah mirroring Zayn's happiness. A big smile automatically made it's way upto my face as I continued to stare at the tunnel. Finally!. "guys" I heard Tyler say and I turned my head to look at him. "how do we know this is the tunnel that would lead us to them?" he questioned. The happiness in the air completely vanished and it was replaced by the same old silence. "we have to try Tyler" Mason said in a comforting voice. "I know there is a very high chance that this tunnel might not lead us to our loves but this will take us somewhere and maybe it is through this tunnel that we will ultimately reach our loves" Mason continued "you're right" Tyler looked at him with a hopeful smile. "we can't miss this chance" he continued. "so shall we?" I said looking at my best pals. All of them nodded, determination and hope clearly visible on their faces. All of us stepped inside the cave and the moment we were all inside, the rocky wall covered the entrance again, making it look like as if nothing was ever there. Our werewolf eyesight helped us to see everything clearly around this cave even though it was pitch black. All of started moving deeper into the tunnel, praying that each step will take us closer to our loves.

We won't stop till we have them back!
