ROSE'S POV
All of us ran towards Crystal like madmen. I knelt beside her and saw that she was unconscious. A big bruise had already started to cover her back. But thankfully she was still breathing. Before anyone of us could do anything further, we heard a heart wrenching scream. The scream that could shake the walls of hell itself. Me and the girls covered our ears, not being able to bear it, and before we could even turn around to witness what was happening, the screaming stopped. I slowly turned my head towards the direction of the horrible scream, ready to face the horrible site of that beast again, but what I saw made me stumble back. In the place where that horrible creature stood just a minute ago, that place was now filled by the 5 Lycans, squirming on the ground, each of them clutching their right thigh which was now a bloody mess. "what the hell just happened" Ashley asked bewildered. "The dagger" Zoey replied, her eyes fixated on the injured Lycans. "The dagger must've been some sort of supernatural weapon or else there is no way a small dagger could injure them this much" She completed. "Girls! Are all of you ok?!" Scott shouted while he and the other boys ran towards us. Jacob and his friends were also running right behind them. Even though all of them were gravely injured, they reached us within a matter of seconds. The moment Tyler laid eyes on Crystals' unconscious form, he went berserk. "Crystal!" he screamed as he ran upto her. He knelt beside her and cradled her head in his lap, tears streaming down his face. "Don't worry Tyler, she's just unconscious" I said with both concern and caution in my voice. I didn't want to trigger him any further. Tyler nodded. "I know Rose but when I saw her her motionless body I just went out of control" he said, not removing his eyes from her face for even a minute. Before anyone of us could speak any further, we were interrupted by a groan. "Th-the little birds di-did manage to...sne-sneak in again huh" Ethan spoke up, struggling to speak. All of them were taking long deep breaths as they clutched their thighs. I glared at him. "They did and this time you and your friends will be done for good!" Mason shouted, looking at him with pure rage in his eyes. "We ju-just wanted happiness....hap-happiness with you all" this time it was Derek who spoke up. His voice sounded like he was actually about to cry. To say that I was taken aback was an understatement. "May-maybe in nex-next life...w-we will" Ethan said while looking at Crystal longingly. His eyes and voice were full of sadness. None of us had ever seen this side of them. The real side of them. "Guy-guys....It's time" this time it was Liam who spoke up. Beside him, Isaac and Aiden where trying to control their bleeding. Trying their very best to save themselves. But before anyone of us could move even an inch, the Lycans started thrashing around in the sand, their eyes shut in pain.

AHHHHH!!!

All of them screamed in unison. Their human voices were overpowered by their werewolf voices. A glowing light emerged out from their thighs, exactly where the wound from the dagger was. It kept on growing. Brighter. Brighter. All of us had to shield our eyes from the blinding light. Before we could even properly understand what was even happening, our ears were met by a loud and agonizing scream from the Lycans. I closed my eyes shut. Their screams were getting louder and louder. The screams held a ton of emotions in them. Rage, defeat, betrayal but mostly, sadness. I was scared to open my eyes because somewhere, in the back of my mind, I still had the fear that the Lycans might never die. "Oh my god" I heard Zoey whisper beside me. I gathered every ounce of courage left in my body and opened my eyes and what I saw in front of me was nothing close to what I had thought. The place were the Lycans were thrashing in pain just moments ago, the only thing that was now visible there were prints. Prints of their bodies on the sand. Blood was splattered all around the spot but the Lycans had vanished. Vanished like they never even existed. I slowly got up, my eyes glued to the spot. "They're gone" the words escaped my mouth. It sounded more like a question. "Gone for real" Noah said placing his hand on my shoulder. The moment his hand touched me, the gravity of the situation hit me like a ton of bricks. They were gone! Gone for real!. I could feel my knees go weak and just a second later, I was on the ground crying. "Rose are you ok?!" Noah said crouching beside me. I turned to look at him and without uttering a single word, I hugged him. I kept on weeping as he embraced me. We were finally out of this mess!. "I know baby I know" Noah said as he softly brushed my hair. I hugged him tighter. "Ow Ow babe be a little careful will you. I'm still wounded" Noah said snapping me out of my state. I immediately pulled away. "I'm so sorry babe I was overwhelmed" I said looking at him. "I know love" He said as he looked at me with a bright smile. "We're finally free" Zayn said from behind me. I turned around to see him and Zoey standing. Zoey had her arm wrapped around his shoulder, helping him stand. "yeah" Scott said as he held a crying Ashley in his arms. I turned to look at Tyler to see he was still holding Crystal's head in his lap. Tears were gushing out of his eyes uncontrollably. "Tyler don't worry. She'll wake up soon" I said sitting beside him, placing my hand on his shoulder. "I know but I just want her to wake up now. I want to talk to her and hug her" He whispered. "She'll soon wake up T, and once she does all of us will tackle her in a hug. Although a hug won't be enough to thank her for what she did today" I said as my eyes shifted to Crystal's unconscious form. He nodded. "Glad to see everyone is ok" Jacob said as he and his friends walked towards us, clutching their bleeding wounds. "We should be the one to thank you guys. If it wasn't for you and your friends, we would've reunited with our loves" Noah said as he hugged me from behind. "No need for that brother. We just did what was right." Jacob said smiling. "But what was that dagger that Crystal used?" Ashley asked confused. "It was no ordinary dagger" Mason replied. "It was a divine dagger. Only the families of the Lycans are gifted with these daggers. These daggers have the power to end the lives of every werewolf, including the Lycans themselves. You can consider this as an another gift to the werewolves who were born in the Lycan ranks, by the moon goddess" Mason completed. "But why only the Lycans" I asked, curiosity getting the best of me. "You guys might already know that Lycans are born without soulmates. The moon goddess gave them immense strength and abundance, but in exchange of this, she stripped them off the chance to have a fated soulmate. The one made just for them" This time it was Jacob who spoke. This just arose another question in my mind. "Well if the Lycans don't have fated soulmates then to whom do they get married?" I asked him further. I clearly remember seeing Ethan and his friends' parents at their mansion just some time back. "As I said they are gifted with immense power. No other werewolf can stand against them. It is using this authority that they choose their soulmates. They can take whoever they want and in most of the cases they kidnap or force someone else's mate, whether human or werewolf, into marrying them by killing their chosen one's pack and his or her real soulmate. Every werewolf on earth knows this and yet we can do nothing to change this" Jacob completed. To be honest, I wasn't even shocked. Ethan and his friends tried to make me and my friends submit to them so only god knows how many more Lycans out there have done the same thing to other innocent souls. The only difference in them and us is that we won the final battle. "Yes. It was through the blessings of the moon goddess that we were able to win this fight. She guided us to the dagger that only the Lycan born families have ever seen. She gave us the power to find it and use it. If it wasn't for that dagger, I don't know what would've happened today" Zayb said in a relieved tone. "It's crazy how the thing that we only heard about from our parents and past generations actually saved our lives today" Scott said, standing up with Ashley's support."Ok guys enough chit chat. The sun will set in a few hours. We don't have much time. Even though we are now safe from the Lycans, we still have to get out of this Island and find our way back to town. Let's start building the final boat" Jacob said. "But all of you are heavily injured. We should wait for tomorrow. You guys will a heal a bit till then" Zoey said and I nodded. The boys wanted to get to work but they understood that they needed rest. With that, they made their way towards the ocean and washed their wounds. The water around them turned red as they washed off the blood and dirt covering their bodies. Meanwhile, me and the girls surrounded Crystal, examining her wound. Her back was covered with a big purple and reddish wound. It would definitely hurt for weeks in a row. We're just glad that she's alive. If anything would've happened to her, I don't think we could've ever forgiven ourselves. The boys came back and sat down with us. I rested my head on Noah's shoulder as all of us watched the sun slowly going below the horizon. But this time it was different. It was not just the sun disappearing. The sun was taking with it, our fear, our grief, our sadness and most importantly, our separation. Our dark night had ended...

Forever.
