ZOEY'S POV
My eyes slowly opened up. I saw Zayn sleeping peacefully beside me. A smile immediately made it's way upto my face. I still can't believe we are finally together. I sat up and brushed the sand from my body and hair. I looked around to see all of them were fast asleep. The sun was almost above the horizon but there was still a hint of the previous night sky. As I was looking around myself, admiring the beauty of the moment, my eyes fell upon Jacob and his friends sleeping a few distance away from us. I looked at them and mentally thanked them over and over again. God knows what would've happened to me, my friends and our loves if Jacob and his friends didn't help us. My eyes turned to the ocean, which was at a safe distance from us, and I was immediately captivated by its beauty and sound. I stood up and started walking around, wanting to open up my legs a little. My eyes automatically closed as a soft breeze of wind brushed my face. But my moment of peace was short lived.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

My eyes widened in shock and my hands instinctively covered my ears to protect them from the horrible noise. I could still hear it clearly even though I had covered my ears as tightly as I could. I looked around me and saw that all of my friends were wide awake now, covering their ears as well. The boys were trying to locate the direction from which the sound was coming but I could only focus on the sound. It held pain and rage inside of it. Suddenly my eyes landed on Lucas and I noticed that he was staring far into the ocean, his eyes wide. All around us, all we heard was the agonizing sound, and as abruptly as it had started, it stopped. I tried to focus on my surroundings, still covering my ears. Once I was sure that the noise had stopped for good, I uncovered my ears, trying to bring my breathing back to normal. "what the hell just happened?!" Ashley shouted, her voice laced with panic and fear. All of us were  standing there scared and confused when my eyes shifted to Lucas. I saw that he was still staring far into the ocean, his eyes reflecting fear and realisation, realisation of something horrible. "Lucas" I called out and everyone's attention turned to him. "Lucas, bro what's wrong?" Jacob asked as he rushed to him with a concerned expression. "the noise" Lucas said in a small voice. He took a pause as all of us stared at him with concern. "what is it Lucas...what about the noise?" I asked him as softly as I could. It was hard to speak softly when you're trembling uncontrollably. "the noise came from the direction of the mansion" he completed as he looked around at all of us. I tried to speak but only my lips moved. My voice was caught in my throat, suffocating me. "they're back" Crystal whispered, her voice barely audible. "But how! Weren't they supposed to get back in the afternoon?!" Zayn shouted loosing his cool. I shifted closer to him in an attempt to calm him down. "guys we've gotta hurry! They have must've realised where we all are" Rose said in a complete state of panic. "We can't escape now. We still have to build the fourth boat and even if we managed to build it we will cross the mansion on our way" Crystal said in a defeated voice. I could feel tears pricking in my eyes as the reality dawned on me. We are trapped. Even though we're so close to our freedom, we are left to fate's mercy. Again. My breathing became erratic as  the thought of Lycans catching us kept repeating in my head. I looked around to my friends and only one thing was visible, chaos. "guys we have to stay strong" Tyler said, trying to encourage all of us. "He's right" Words came out of my mouth before I could even comprehend what I was saying. "We all are in this together. If we can't get out of this situation atleast we all have each other by our side. We have to fight" I said. All of them looked at me for a second, then nodded taking in my words. "Is it safe to stay here, in the open. Shouldn't we move inside the forest to get some sort of security?" I said looking at all of them. "Your idea is good but I don't think we should do it. Remember the tunnel that we come through, its exit also opened inside the cave, within the forest" Crystal said. "but Crys we've already used that tunnel and the clue is also gone and I don't think that the Lycans will be able to enter this Island without the clue" I said. "you're right Zoe, this tunnel maybe out of their reach but do you really think that this tunnel was the only way to this Island" Crystal asked me and I was left speechless. She's so right. "She's right! We only found one way to get out of that mansion but the Lycans would surely have many other routes. These routes were made by the Lycans' forefathers, incase they had to escape the mansion in emergency and I'm pretty sure they'd built more than one escape route" Jacob said and I nodded. It's is better for all of us to stay in the open, but stay together. It's not like the forest can help us avoid the Lycans for long. We have to face them one way or another. "Now we just have to wait" I said as I looked at the calm blue morning ocean, which was also preparing for a chaos.

Almost half the day had passed since we had heard that horrible noise. The afternoon sun shone brightly in the sky and the ocean was deathly silent. Me and the girls were sitting on the sand, watching our surroundings. The boys had gone into the forest to see if they could make some weapons out of the woods and stones. Even though it would be next to nothing in a fight with the Lycans, but something is better than nothing. I closed my eyes and tried to capture these last moments of peace.

"Aaaaahh!" A scream emerged from my throat as I felt someone lift me up by my hair. I tried to get out but the more I thrashed around, the more my head was hurting. As I desperately tried to escape, I was sharply shifted towards the back, which now made me face to face with my attacker. "open your eyes sweetie" said a voice. I hadn't realised that I had closed my eyes. I tried to open them but my mind refused. This was the only thing that was keeping me sane. The voice hadn't spoken since that sentence. I had no other option but to open my eyes. As I slowly opened my red, teary eyes they were met by a pair of pitch black eyes. My breath was caught in my throat and the only sound I could hear was my own heart beat. His eyes stared into mine and I could feel the rage inside of him. He brought my body closer to his, still holding me by my hair.

"I sincerely hope that all of you enjoyed this little 'break' because you'll need all the strength that you have to face what is about to come next" he growled. Our faces were now only a few metres apart and the reality had never been this clear for us.

My reality was my biggest nightmare.
