Chapter 8

The whole lunch thing was awkward and even Inoichi didn't bother trying to start a conversation, most likely not wanting to land on another thing that causes even more tension.

Damn people, can't they just leave it alone it's not like I'm an enemy ninja, face it, if I was an enemy ninja would I throw all my pride away on a mission and sit in some strangers lap? No, but I'm from the future and this "stranger" is my father so pride isn't the worst thing on my mind at the moment.

The waiter came with our food and we ate, even though mom made lunch before this I was still a bit hungry, one of the effects of Chaaya's powers is hunger and fatigue so I didn't really question it.

I made sure not to eat too quickly and ate slowly knowing they were watching and if I just stuffing my face randomly which I never really did they would be worried, mom did feed us before we came here. Because of this, I didn't get to eat nearly as much as I wanted to.

Sooner than I would have liked it all ended and I found myself sitting in front of all three men them staring at me intently, "You know this wouldn't happen if you didn't lie." I scoffed, "No, this wouldn't be such a problem if I wasn't caught lying." I mumbled, "What was that?" I shook my head.

Why did I have to be stuck here of all places, I had WAY better things to do, like think about if I should let Hinata get kidnapped and let her dad save her and her uncle die, I know that it might cause a small effect I did but I don't even know for sure if it will help Hinata or not and it's not the most important event that's going to happen, there are far more important things needed to be done, like befriending Naruto and helping him out so he isn't a dead-last, then again, that might affect who's on who's team...

"Are you even listening to me?" I looked at him, "No, honestly this is pointless," I started to walk away, "I have way more important things to do." I was heading for the door, "Just you wait a min-" I shut the door behind me.

I swear if I stayed there any longer than I would have then I would have a major migraine. I thought it was going to be easier than this, maybe I should just tell the Hokage... but it's so much work, especially planning how I'm going to tell him so that he believes me... the writers lazy.

Stop with the damn excuses and tell him!

"Troublesome demon," I said quietly.

I looked and looked for a specific blonde, how hard is it to find a hyperactive loud mouth blonde? I heard yells, running towards an alleyway I see Naruto being cornered by 3 village men, "Hey, what are you doing?!" I yelled, one turned towards me, "It's just a kid, hey kid go back to mommy and daddy."

A harsh glare was on my face as I stared at the three men, making a hand sign I shivered feeling the cold sensation of the mark on my back pulsating at the use of my clans jutsu, I connected the three men's shadow to mine, "What the hell?" they suddenly stopped walking towards Naruto, "Shadow Possession complete." (that's what he says right?)

"If you don't leave now, I will do more than stop you, I'll make sure you'll never be able to move again," I turned them away from Naruto so that they faced me, "I'm the Nara clan heir, after all, I know a couple of ways." a sadistic smirk came onto my face as I let them, "That brats crazy lets get out of here!" they ran away.

"Shikamaru Nara." I held my hand out to Naruto who took it with a big fox-like grin on his face, my heart skipped a beat as I remembered my Naruto, "Naruto Uzumaki, I'm going to be the next Hokage! Believe it!" I couldn't help the small smile that came onto my face, "I believe it Naruto." a look of shock came onto his face till he started laughing.

I let a small chuckle escape.

I missed him so much.

"So... um, can we um..." I smiled, "Naruto do you want to be my friend." I finished for him, I knew exactly what he was going to ask, I knew him like the back of my hand, I know everything about him, and I will try my best to have him trust me like he did back then, I will be there for him no matter what. He shook his head up and down rapidly making me wonder how his head hasn't fallen off yet, what a drag.

"Wanna get some ramen Naruto?" when dad wasn't looking I took his wallet.

"Sure!"

Just ate but really don't care.

She was quiet after that. Naruto and I started eating, I didn't eat as much of course but anything that I didn't finish Naruto ate anyway.

10 bowls including mine, which Naruto ate some of (I only had one bowl), that's a lot of money to spend in only a day at a ramen shop on only TWO people.

So yea, my dad's wallet wasn't exactly empty, it just didn't have as much as it did before... I'm screwed.

I sighed as I closed my dad's wallet, heh, wonder what'll happen when he sees how much has gone missing, I start to snicker, "What's so funny?" oh, poor innocent little Naru, "Well, this is my dad's wallet when he sees how much money's gone, he'll flip!" Naruto looked down saddened by the fact that I might get in trouble, "Oh, sorry."

AAAHHHH HE'S SOOOO ADORABLE

Yeah, he is my boyfriend after all.

Well, technically he's not, at least not yet.

I frowned at that, "Don't worry about it Naru, I am genius after all. He'll NEVER find out it was me." that frown on the blond's usually smiling face was troublesome so it made me feel way better to see him smiling at me.

Then a cocky grin spread onto his face... what have I done, "If you're so smart why not help me prank the Uchihas, I've never been able to get past them and with you being a 'genius'" he added the air quotes, "and all, I can finally get them! Believe it!" I laughed, "Of course I'll help you Naruto, we ARE friends after all." he jumped out of his chair hugging me, if I didn't know the blond so well we would both be falling to our demise, troublesome.

"I'll meet you at my house, okay Naruto?" Naruto nodded and I started to tell him the directions.

Tomorrow was going to be a very interesting day.
