Poem/Quote of the day:
There's no such thing as love at first sight,
So when you meet, don't think you've met Mr. Right-unknown
Chapter Seventeen:
AFEERAH'S P.O.V
I watched as their car pulled out of the gate.
I looked at the time and quickly ran to the kitchen, cooking breakfast for Sahal.
I've taken it as my job to cook for him since he doesn't want to come out of his shell.
I made pancakes,a cup of hot chocolate and a bowl of fruits.
I put them all on a tray and headed to his room.
"It's Afeerah. Please open the door." I said because both my hands were holding the tray.
I heard short footsteps and soon, i was facing Sahal. He wore pajama pants and a grey shirt.
I smiled slightly at him and entered the room dropping the food on the bedside table.
I noticed that his eyes were red even though I'm sure he hasn't been crying, and his movements were weak.
"Are you okay?" I found myself asking.
"I-"he coughed loudly. "Just a small cough." His voice was deep and hoarse.
I shook my head and opened the bedside drawer which held the first aid items.
I grabbed the thermometer and told him to put it under his armpit.
He did as he was told and after some seconds he removed it, handing it to me.
"Subhanalah! Sahal you're burning up." I gasped.
"I'm alright."
"No you're not! Now please eat up, I'll be right back." I said and left the room.
I got a bowl of water and a towel, heading back to his room. His tray was now containing only a plate, a cup and a bowl. With no food.
"Wow." I muttered under my breath. "Lay down on the bed."
"I'm-"
"Lay down on the freaking bed!" I shouted and gasped. "I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into me i was just-"
"It's alright." He was laughing. Yes, laughing.
This is the first time I've seen him laugh since his mum's death. I blushed.
He laid down on the bed and i handed him a wet towel, ordering him to keep it on his forehead.
"Now please don't get up, I'll make you mint and ginger tea." I said getting up.
He nodded and I left again.
After quickly preparing the tea, o got some medicine for him and walked back up.
He was still where i left him, looking at the ceiling.
"You're thinking of her aren't you?" I sighed quietly.
For the first time, Sahal wasn't that person who closed himself up. He let me see his emotions. He let me in. "I miss her." He croaked.
"I understand what you're going through, but don't let this affect you too much. I know you're mourning but what's happened has happened."
