Poem/Quote of the day:

You can't buy happiness.

Chapter Twenty Nine:

AFEERAH'S P.O.V

After Mr Oth-- I mean Dad took me to my new room, I asked to have a word with him.

I had already thought about it when I was in the hospital and I had made up my mind.

"What do you need habibtee?" He asked.

I wasn't used to being loved and appreciated so I was uncomfortable.

"I've written my final exams already," I started.

The results came out a week before prom and I was the best by far. I had four A1's and the rest were all B2's.

"Yes, I saw your results." He said stroking my palm.

"I want to attend a university a-abb--... Abroad." I choked out.

He had a hurt look in his eyes and I quickly explained. "I know you just got me back but I'm not used to all of this. I need some time to figure everything out. Please." I sighed.

He agreed after making sure everything was okay and telling me to this further.

A month later

"Are you sure that's all? You haven't forgotten anything right?" Daddy asked me while the driver was loading things in the boot of the car.

I hugged him again. "Yes, that's all."

Sahal and Sahla were looking at us.

It hurt me to see Sahal for the last time. I wasn't planning on coming back even in the holidays.

But I didn't tell Daddy. I didn't want him to hurt the more. But I couldn't stay when I knew that only him wanted me there.

Sahla on the other hand had a straight face but I was sure she was happy that I was leaving.

After all the goodbyes, Daddy, Sahla, Sahal and I went to the airport.

"All passengers boarding..."

That's me.

After saying our last goodbyes, I hugged daddy one last time before I proceeded to my plane.

I sat on my seat and looked out of the window. I could see my father and his kids.

After looking at them for the final time, I dragged the curtains.

I have never ever ever ever boarded a plane before but I felt calm and ready for anything that was to come.

"Good day ladies and gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking. We will take off in ten. Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy your flight"

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. This is it.

I heard an unfamiliar sound before the plane took off.

I looked out of the window.

Goodbye Dad.

Goodbye Sahal
