The early morning dawn shimmered through your window, casting over your eyes in a way that wakes you peacefully. You sit up and look around your small, yet cozy cabin. You swung your legs over the side of the bed, until memories from last night came flooding in. You held your head in your hands. It seemed so unreal... You thought, standing up and walking towards one of the cabinets.
You open it, just to find it empty. "What? That's crazy!" You exclaim, your eyes scanning the cabinet. "I swore I had enough caldin meat to last the rest of the week!" You state. Your stomach growled, signaling you would need more, and soon. You grabbed your cloak, and your staff with a pointed end that you had carved yourself, and headed outside.
You closed the door behind you before walking deeper into the forest. The heat wasn't unbearable, but it was enough to make you uncomfortable, though you didn't want to take it off in fear that someone would see you. You walk around the big trees and listen in closely, for the slightest rustle.
After creeping around for a little, you heard something- something big- from behind you. As twigs kept snapping, and leaves kept rustling, you slowly and quietly as possible turned around, but the giant leaves concealed the creature's identity. There's nothing in this forest that would make this much noise! It's too big to be a creature! You thought. Then you remembered yesterday.
"Well, actually, there is one more. She lives in that forest." Fort says, gesturing and turning his attention to the forest. You swung your head back just in time for them to not see them. You heartbeat was fast paced now. "Hmm... we'll have to check it out tomorrow. But it is getting late. We should all get some rest." Allura stated, everyone turning their attention back to her.
Shoot. You thought. They'd be coming after you today. Not knowing what else to do, you ran- no, sprinted in the opposite direction. You heard a growl and a roar from behind you as the thing chased you. This is NOT a Paladin! You scream in your head. You look back at the creature for a second. It was red, and had some green stripes on its fur. It had long light yellow fangs and it was at least three times your size. It was huge and looked just about ready to eat you.
While looking back, you tripped over a rock, shortening the distance between you and the creature. You quickly got up and bolted away from it. Then something big and grey was coming into view. The paladin's castle of lions! I can hide there!! You exclaim. You ran faster towards the castle. A couple feet away from the wall, you slam you staff down into the ground and jumped. That was enough to get you a good distance from the ground. You quickly put the staff in your mouth to hold while you started to climb. When the creature caught up, you were to high off the ground for it to reach.
You made it to the Princess' balcony and hoisted yourself over the railing. You smirked in victory down at the growling creature. But the growling in your stomach reminded you that you needed food, more desperately now. You turn around and walk towards the door, which swished open at your movement. You were surprised, but not complaining. You thought it'd be much harder to get in than just walking up to the door. But nonetheless you gratefully walked inside, leaving behind the beast.
You entered into a bedroom, which you assumed to be Allura's. You take a moment to gape at the size and intricate designs of the room. Her room was beautiful. The first few feet off the ground was a simple white color, but on the upper part, there were swirling light blue and gold details lacing the upper part of the room. And at the top, a big crystal chandelier. There was a king sized bed next to the left wall, and the room was complete with a ginormous bathroom and a walk-in closet. You didn't explore around to much as you respected her privacy. You snapped out of your awe-struck trance and walked towards the exit of the room.
But before you could leave, the door swished open. There stood none other than the Galra-hater herself, Princess Allura of Altea. Oh boy. Your cloak concealed most of your body, but your hood was not on, so Allura could clearly tell you were Galra with the ears and all. She just stood there, mouth and eyes wide open as she scanned your face, while you mentally panicked.
She stepped towards you and looked as if she was about to say something, but before she could, you bolted towards the balcony. You could hear her run after you. You got out there, but there was no where to go. You turned and faced her, slightly frightened. "Listen." She said as she slowly approached you. You turned and bolted towards the edge again, but this time something caught your wrist. You look back to see Allura. "Please." She quietly pleads. You snatch your arm away so forcefully that you stumble backwards, and fall over the railing.
"WOAH." You exclaim. You barely catch onto the bottom of the railing with one hand. A low but loud growl can be heard. You look down to see the same giant red and green creature from before, munching on your staff. You quickly try and hoist your other arm up to get grab onto the railing, which you barely succeeded at. You break out into a cold sweat as the creature roars, shaking the castle a bit. Your hands survived the shaking, but are really sweaty. Your hands were slipping on the smooth metal of the railing. Your hand you originally caught yourself with slipped and released from the bar. You barely got your other arm up the first time, and you knew better than to try again. Your hands were too sweaty and your arm muscles were already aching.
Your eyes widened at the fact that you were barely hanging on, and slowly slipping from the bar. You squeezed your eyes shut as your hand finally released from the metal, just to be caught by the wrist again. You look up to see Allura, who has grabbed your wrist with two hands and was pulling hard, but barely moving you upwards. You looked at her in shock for a few seconds before placing your feet on the wall and trying to run up, which helped more than you expected. With her help, you were high enough to re-attach your hand to the railing. You finished the job and hoisted yourself up and tumbling over.
As you caught your breath from that near-death experience, you were enveloped in a tight hug. You were surprised to find Allura was the one who hugged you, but not surprised because, who else could it be?
"Why didn't you take my hand?" She asked. You were confused. You didn't see her hand reached out to you. "You tried to help me?" You asked, and she just nodded against your neck. I guess I was in too much of a panic to notice.. You concluded. "I was so worried. I was screaming at you to take my hand! Why didn't you listen?! You could've died!" She exclaims.
She was... worried? You wonder, but you decided to save that for another day. For now, you just wrapped your arms around her, and whispered;
"I guess we need each other."
