Pidge x Hacker!Reader

———————————————————————————

You were a hacker for the rebel Alliance. Anything they needed information on, you get it. You known to be the best hacker in the galaxy. But, you didn't think that the green Paladin of Voltron would hack into your systems.

It was just another day, or night, you couldn't tell. You were up 24/7 protecting the info you gathered. You were started to doze off when a red light and a siren emitted from your laptop. You jolted up and ran your fingers over the keyboard.

You then got a message from the hacker. Where is my brother?! The message popped up. You quickly injected a virus into the hacker's computer. If they didn't leave or if they got info, their computer's circuits will fry, causing them to lose any information they have. It also disables their signals, so they can't send the information to another source.

Another message popped up on your screen, but it was an update on your computer. -<Y2fncj87hs> successfully downloaded- . You smiled, then replied to the person. I don't know who you are, or who your brother is, but if don't leave our systems, your computer circuits will fry, burning any and all information on your base. That includes information not gathered from our base.

I am Pidge, a Paladin of Voltron. My brother is Matthew Holt. I want to find him. You stared at Pidge's response. This is.... Katie...? You thought.

Matt was one of the best fighters on the alliance. He was also your best friend, and he talked about Katie all the time. How she goes by Pidge, her hair, her personality, just everything Pidge. He talked about Pidge so positively and often, that you felt like you were her friend for ages. A friend that you wanted to be something more with...

Katie? Katie Holt? You asked her. If she said that was her name, then you would be sure it was her. Her next comment was pleasantly surprising: How do you know my name?!

That's it! This is her! You thought excitedly. Hold on! You told her. You started to type away at your computer.

-<Y2fncj87hs> successfully deleted- The message came up on your screen.

Why did you do that? She asked. Listen, I don't have much time. I know your brother personally. He said many good things about you. I will send you his coordinates. You messaged.

You quickly tapped and clicked on your computer. A bright orange dot appeared on your screen, signaling Matt's location. You scanned the area and got his coordinates. You finished scanning the coordinates. Then, you sent them to Pidge. _*+<~D1006ghmk: sent-.

Then, all of the sudden: ACESS DENIED; shut lock in 59... 58...57...56 .... She had tried to break in.

Pidge!?! You messaged. I'm sorry, I just don't trust you. She replied, sending an ache to your heart. Oh. you responded. What did I expect?

Just Take them and leave. You sent her, then kicked her off your computer. You continued to disable the shut lock system. You actually made it yourself, so it was quick and easy. Then you logged off your computer.

You never saw her again.

A couple months later, you were on a search mission; a search and rescue mission to be exact. Matt has been missing for a month, and seeing that you were his best friend, you conducted your own search. You even stepped down from the alliance to find him.

That is, until you got a message. -/FiLe 31108 uploaded. 6.548994290.... 98.74235789543..... You recognized them as coordinates. You were skeptical at the random coordinates, but that was soon overpowered by the thought that it might be Matt.

You flew to the coordinates as quickly as possible. You saw a giant castle, where the coordinate marks landed. You recognized it as the castle of lions; Voltron's home base. You landed on a deck-like platform on the castle.

You stepped out of your ship, just to be tackled back in with a hug. You looked down to see Matt. "Matt!!!!" You shouted, hugging him back. "Miss me?" He replied, chuckling. "So much." You finally got off each other and entered the castle.

You were taken to a control room, where what seemed like the whole team was. "Guys! This is my best friend, (Y/n)!" You were greeted rather kindly by everyone.

Then, you saw Pidge. You didn't want to be mean, but you couldn't exactly be nice.  So you just stayed closed-off from her. Matt noticed this, and tried to get you to talk over your love of technology and hacking, but to no avail. All the conversations Pidge tried to start with you were finished as quickly as they started.

You and Matt were sharing your dilemmas; how he disappeared because he was found by Pidge and the rest of Voltron, how he gave you the coordinates, how you stepped down from the rebel Alliance. You purposely left out the part when Pidge hacker in. He even convinced you to stay here.

Then night came. After finally finding and catching up with Matt, you think you'd be tired, but no. There was one person on your mind; Pidge. So you just sat in the control room, staring out into the vast void of space. How am I going to approach her? You thought. You then heard footsteps approaching from behind you. You turned, and to your surprise, saw Pidge. Maybe I don't have to...

"Hey." You said, then turned back to looking at the stars. "Hey, um, (Y/n)." She said. Her stuttering surprised you a bit, but you kept your gaze on the stars.

"Can I join you?" She asked. You only nodded in response. She sat next to you, and you stargazed together. Every once in a while, you would catch her staring at you. She looked like she had something to say, but kept quiet. This continued to point of annoying you.

"If wanna talk about something, then talk." You said coldly, breaking the silence.  "Why are you ignoring me?" She asked, confused and sad. You decided to play dumb. "I don't know what you're-"

"Yes you do. You're open to everyone, but me. Matt keeps talking about you, about how we would make good friends and an unstoppable hacker team. Did I do something?" She cut you off and asked. You sighed, knowing the truth would come out eventually. "Yes, you did." You responded, less cold. "What did I do?" She asked, looking at you and pressing you to go on. You turned to face her.

"Remember when you hacked into the rebel base? When you got the coordinates for Matt from someone?" You asked her. "Yeah- how did you-" she began to ask. "I was that someone." You said, cutting off her question. She closed her mouth and frowned.

"Matt talked about you so often, and so positively, that it felt like I have known you for years, when really, we hadn't met at all. I thought we were all ready friends, that we could be great, real friends. Then you hacked into my computer. I was so excited to meet you, I forgot to even tell you my name." You laughed at that, trying to lighten up the mood. Pidge just sat there, waiting for more.

"And I deleted a virus from your computer that could've wiped out all the information in there. I gave you his coordinates, and you said you didn't trust me. That hurt bad. And I guess I'm not over it." You finished, as you looked down. "But, I don't know what I expected, for you to trust a stranger..."

You were then enveloped in a hug from Pidge. "I'm sorry! I wish I had known!" She cries into your shirt. You wrapped your arms around her gently. "But, you didn't. And that's okay. It's okay not to know things." You told her.

After a little while, she pulled away. Eyes slightly puffy, and tears staining her cheeks. You gave her a reassuring and gentle smile. She smiled back.

"Friends?" You asked. She shook her head, still smiling. You gave her a confused look. "Best friends?" You asked. She giggled and shook her head again. She then cupped your face, turning both your faces red. "Lovers?" She asked. You smiled.

"Lovers." You responded, and she smiled. Then you shared a sweet, loving, gentle kiss. You didn't end up going to bed. You fell asleep right in the control room. In each other's arms.
